Fall 2006
|
If you’re looking for this year’s Fall schedule grid, you should visit the main schedule grid page to find the appropriate link. This is the TV schedule that was announced for Fall 2006 and is here for reference purposes. Your best bet for knowing what’s on each night is to check out my TV Picks each day (don’t think you can remember to visit this site every day? You can get the picks via email or subscribe to the feed). Midseason series are listed after the schedule grids; I also list which shows from last season are not returning further on down this page. Premiere dates are in parenthesis after the show name. To adjust the timezone, use the gadget in the sidebar. |

| Notes: |
NBC originally had Medium staying on Monday, but they later changed their schedule and moved Studio 60 to Monday. Medium won’t return until midseason. Monday Night Football begins airing on ESPN this season. Desire and Fashion House both start on Tuesday, September 5th on MyNetworkTV; these shows air new episodes five days a week (like a soap opera); there will be "recap episodes" on Saturday nights. The FOX winter schedule has Prison Break and Vanished on breaks, with Standoff moving from Tuesdays to Mondays at 7pm and 24 returning at 8pm. |

| MyNet | Desire (9/5) | Fashion House (9/5) | ||||
| Notes: |
NBC originally had Kidnapped airing at 8pm on Tuesday; they later moved Law & Order: Criminal Intent to Tuesdays. Fox originally had House airing at 8pm in the fall and Standoff airing at 7pm, but at some point they switched the two around. The Knights of Prosperity was originally titled "Let’s Rob . . . " and before that it was called "Let’s Rob Mick Jagger." Set for the Rest of Your Life will take over the Dancing with the Stars timeslot at midseason (or a bit before). FOX starts the season with House at 7pm and Standoff at 8pm, but after the baseball playoffs (starting at the end of October) Standoff will move to 7pm and House will shift to 8pm. FOX also makes changes for their winter schedule when American Idol returns; American Idol will be on at 7pm, House will move to 8pm, Standoff moves to Mondays at 7pm. |

Are you aware that I post about television almost every week day and that I’ve been doing so since March 1999? I’m aware that lots of people find this page via search engines and so may not be aware of this. Come for the grid, but please check out the rest of this site as I work very hard on it all year long (not just in May when I first post the fall grids).

NBC originally announced The Biggest Loser at 7pm, Twenty Good Years at 8pm, 30 Rock at 8:30pm, and Law & Order at 9pm. New episodes of Lost air from 10/4 through 11/8, then the show goes on a break for a while (Day Break starts airing on 11/15); Lost will return later in the winter or spring and run new episodes without interruption (no reruns). The ABC winter schedule has George Lopez airing at 7pm and According to Jim at 7:30pm; Day Break will air at 8pm (as mentioned above). The FOX winter schedule for Wednesday has Justice moving to 7pm; Bones moving to Fridays at 7pm; American Idol at 8pm and The Loop at 8:30pm. Beauty and the Geek will take over at 7pm on CW in the winter when America’s Next Top Model goes on a break between cycles. |

I’ve been posting these grids each year since 2000; in some years I’ve been the first to post the fall grids online. I put them online as the schedules are announced at the Upfronts in May and then revise them over the summer and in the fall as changes are made and premiere dates are announced.

| Notes: |
ABC announced on August 9th that they were moving Ugly Betty from Fridays at 7pm to Thursdays at 7pm; as a result, Big Day and Notes from the Underbelly (originally scheduled for this timeslot) won’t debut until after the next round of Dancing With The Stars. NBC originally announced that Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip would have the 8pm Thursday timeslot, but later moved it to Monday nights (presumably because ABC announced they were moving Grey’s Anatomy to Thursday). The Black Donnellys will take over ER’s timeslot this winter. |

ABC originally scheduled Ugly Betty for Fridays at 7pm, but in August 2006 they announced that they were moving the series to Thursdays at 7pm. America’s Funniest Home Videos will air on Friday at 7pm instead. NBC originally announced Deal or Deal at 7pm, Las Vegas at 8pm, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent at 9pm. Crossing Jordan originally wasn’t going to return until midseason, but now it is on the fall schedule and Medium has (sadly) been bumped to midseason. All this juggling seems to be a result of NBC moving Studio 60 from Thursday to Monday. Trading Spouses returns on 10/6 at 8pm after Celebrity Duets ends. This winter on FOX: Bones moves from Wednesdays to Fridays at 7pm; the new series The Wedding Album will air at 8pm. (Update: The Wedding Album never aired; FOX instead had David E. Kelley create the show Wedding Bells to air in that timeslot. |
