Unlike so many TV sites out there, this one is maintained by just one person and is not backed by a company of any sort. I’ve had the occasional bit of help over the years from others, but the day to day stuff is all handled by me (Laurel). I scour the listings, build the grids, watch the shows, write to publicists, read the press releases, write reviews, cover TV on DVD, put together the picks each day, and . . . well, do a whole lot– covering more ground than most TV critics who work for newspapers or other websites. I started this site in 1999 because I couldn’t find a single TV website which covered all the stuff I wanted to know on a daily basis; ever since then I’ve tried to provide a useful site for folks who enjoy good TV.
If you’ve found my work helpful and/or you’d like to encourage me in this madness, there are a number of ways you can support this site. Given the many hours I put in and the content I provide, I don’t think it’s too much to ask. This is my full-time job, it’s up to you folks to pay me for it.
Make a Donation
This is, truly, the best and most helpful thing you can do. If you’ve got the spare funds, make a donation. One time donations are great, monthly or annual donations are even better.

Buy/Send Me Stuff
I have a wishlist. Multiple wishlists, in fact. If you can’t figure out something that I’d like, you just aren’t looking very hard. You can send me stuff from a wishlist or go out on your own based on the stuff I like or send me a card just because or . . . whatever. I’ve had readers send me samples from their companies, quirky postcards, mix CDs, and even recordings of their fave TV shows. I really like getting mail (so long as you don’t send me something disgusting or scary).
If you send me something that’s TV-related, I’ll try to cover it somewhere on the site, though it may take me a while to get to it (depending on how much is going on). If it’s a newly released item, I’ll try to get to it as soon as I can.
Send Me Email
I love hearing from people who read my TV picks. What do you like? Have I turned you onto any shows? Do you have an idea or suggestion for the site? What’s the best thing you’ve seen on TV lately? Have I missed something you think I should mention? Tell me about it.
I read everything and try to reply to everything I can (sometimes I’m quick to reply, other times less so; it truly varies). If you can’t swing a donation, send an email. Heck, if you can swing a donation, write to me once in a while too.
Using the contact form helps ensure I’ll see your message, though you can also reply to the email version of the picks or send me email directly. The contact form is the most reliable method as I get a lot of email and a lot of junk email and sometimes unexpected emails slip through the cracks. You should see “Contact” listed in the sidebar somewhere on every page. If you really need a reply and haven’t heard from me in 48 hours, please write to me again as it’s possible your message got lost.
Buy An Ad or Sponsor the Picks
I’ve decided to start selling text and banner ads on the site; I’m also contemplating letting people sponsor a day or week of TV picks. Interested in any of these options or have another cool idea for how I can make a little money with this site? Get in touch with me.
Offer to Help
I can always use help with the site, especially with coding and design as I’m usually too busy writing about TV to spend a lot of time tweaking the design. If you know HTML, CSS, PHP, and/or Wordpress and want to help, please get in touch with me.
If you like gathering up info about TV for yourself or others, I’d be happy to include that info here if it’s something I haven’t already covered. Will give you credit, of course.
If anyone out there wants to take over keeping the schedule grids updated, that would rock and I would credit you and possibly send you some nifty stuff for your trouble.
Also interested in people to write TV on DVD reviews for the site as there are so many coming out all the time and which have already come out that I sometimes can’t manage reviews of everything I’d like to cover.

Buy Stuff From Amazon and Other Stores Via My Links
When you start a shopping trip to Amazon.com via one of my Amazon links on this website or the store, a percentage of what you spend there comes back to me. Cool, eh? There are other affiliate links in the “Shop” section of the sidebar and sometimes elsewhere on the site; if you are gonna buy stuff from these folks anyway, why not do so via my links?
