Need a reminder of where things left off with Lost last season? ABC has you covered with tonight’s rebroadcast of the three parts of last season’s finale (ABC, 7pm – 10pm). I believe these also include footnotes, if you will, designed to give you more insight into the episode(s). The season premiere of Lost debuts next Wednesday.
Christine realizes that one of the fathers at Ritchie’s school was the seventh grade classmate who ruined her reputation in this new episode of The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS, 7pm). Christine decides to get some revenge . . . eek! Lee Tergesen guest stars; you may recognize him from Generation Kill, Wanted, Oz, Homicide: Life on the Street, or any number of things. Most recently he played a character in the U.S. Life on Mars.
Rick Hoffman and Richard Roundtree guest star on a new Knight Rider (NBC, 7pm).
A young woman is abducted and the team suspects a member of an affluent community in Atlanta in this new episode of Criminal Minds (CBS, 8pm). Michael Boatman guest stars; he was “Carter” on Spin City, but I remember him most fondly for playing “Beckett” on China Beach.
Season finale of Friday Night Lights (The 101, 8pm and 11pm; also airs on Friday at 8pm and 11pm). The 101 is a station that’s only available on DirecTV; these episodes of Friday Night Lights will begin airing on NBC starting this Friday.
Elvis Costello interviews and plays some music with Rufus Wainwright in tonight’s new episode of Spectacle (Sundance, 8pm; also on Thursday at 11pm, Sunday at 1am and 1pm, and next Monday at 11pm).
Martha makes “corn jewelry” in this new episode of Whatever, Martha! (Fine Living, 8pm and 11pm).
“Chocolate Bread Pudding” is the food stuff in a new episode of Throwdown with Bobby Flay (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm). Yum.
New Inside the NFL (Showtime, 8pm).
New Damages (FX, 9pm, 10:03pm, 12:04am; also on Sunday at 11:01pm). DVR Alert: this episode has a running time of 63 minutes. I’ve seen the first three episodes of the new season of Damages and they’re great. Joining the cast this season are William Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden, and Timothy Olyphant. I really liked season one of this show and in order to enjoy season two– you really need to have seen season one (fortunately it’s available on DVD).
The plaintiff in a high profile lawsuit with a major airline is found dead in this new episode of Law & Order (NBC, 9pm). Merdedes Ruehl and Dallas Roberts are among the guest stars. I saw Mercedes Ruehl and Patrick Stewart star together in a production of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis back in 2001– it was quite good.
The competitors shop for fresh ingredients at a farm and then make dinner for the farm workers on a new Top Chef (Bravo, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm).
Robert Schimmel covers divorce, cancer, and heart trouble in his new special Robert Schimmel: Life Since Then (Showtime, 9pm; plenty of additional airings on various Showtime stations).
New episode of K-9 Cops (Animal Planet, 9pm, midnight, 4am).
Young brides-to-be fight over a dress at the biggest wedding gown sale of the year and one of them winds up dead in this new episode of CSI: NY (CBS, 9pm).
Two new episodes of Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns (TBS, 9pm, 9:30pm).
Late Night
Fareed Zakaria on The Daily Show (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Alan Khazei on The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).
Clint Eastwood, Randy Rogers Band on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Cherie Blair, Ralph Fiennes, Brett Dennen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC, 10:35pm).
Salma Hayek, Paul Bettany, Patty Loveless on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).
John Waters, Norah O’Donnell on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).
Mickey Rourke, Michael Strahan, Morgan Murphy on Jimmy Kimmel (ABC, check your local listings).
Billie Piper (of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Doctor Who), Flobots on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).
