News & Notes
There’s all sorts of cool programming right now on NASA TV as the space shuttle’s mission to the International Space Station continues. They always air neat stuff, but it’s especially fun to watch the space walks.
I recommend visits to TVTattle.com for the latest news about all things TV. I tend to mostly just note stuff here that involves schedule changes, whether shows have been renewed or canceled, etc.
Daytime
“Nate Makes a Mother’s Wish Come True” on a new Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

Primetime
The Rape of Europa (PBS, check your local listings) is based on the book of the same name. A look at how the Nazis stole and destroyed European artwork during World War II.
Tonight’s new episode of Chuck (NBC, 7pm) is all about the shocking discovery made at the end of the last episode, though I didn’t find it all that shocking as I’ve seen TV before. Still a fun development though! Okay, the episode isn’t all about that as there’s a subplot involving the fact that Captain Awesome’s parents are coming over for Thanksgiving dinner and as a result Ellie doesn’t want Morgan to be there this year. Aw. Poor Morgan. Jordana Brewster continues her guest stint on the show.
Sheldon is way too excited over the fact that Leonard is dating a woman who is up to his standards on The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 7pm). Episode title is “The White Asparagus Triangulation”. The fabulous Sara Rue guest stars again as Stephanie, you probably know Rue best for having starred in Less Than Perfect.
Sarah continues to obsess over three dots on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX, 7pm). Really. But I guess it leads her to a company that she thinks might have the Turk. We watched the last two episodes before this one this weekend and were once again amazed at how stupid John Connor is. Good grief! How has he survived this long? It’s taken a whole lot of luck, in addition to the help of many many people (and terminators).
No Gossip Girl tonight, alas. The next new episode is scheduled for next Monday, December 1st.
The turkey is the subject of a new Modern Marvels (History Channel, 7pm and 11pm). Just in time for Turkey Day.
Two new episodes of Little People, Big World (TLC, 7pm and 10pm, 7:30pm and 10:30pm).
The “Naked Man Strategy” is learned and deployed on How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7:30pm). You don’t need me to explain, if you like the show you’ll be watching anyway.
An eclipse casts a shadow over everybody on Heroes (NBC, 8pm). It sounds like things might get a bit more interesting in this episode and I sure hope so as I’ve pretty much hated this season thus far. Sylar and Elle go after Claire. Parkman and some other folks team up to try and find out what Daphne’s story is. Nathan and Peter go in search of the Haitian. Guest stars include Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, Kristen Bell, Brea Grant, Jamie Hector, and Blake Shields. Greg Grunberg and Brea Grant are both on Twitter: @greggrunberg and @breagrant. Yes, it’s really them.
Jon and Kate decide to have a yard sale on Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 8pm and 11pm).
Michael Clarke Duncan guest stars as Charlie’s new neighbor on Two and a Half Men (CBS, 8pm).
“The search for Scylla comes to a shocking end” on Prison Break (FOX, 8pm). Dun dun DUN! That’s not it for the show though, new episodes air the following two Mondays as well.
Sam invites her new boyfriend to meet her parents at dinner on Samantha Who? (ABC, 8:32pm – 9:02pm) but things go awry when Owen expresses his opinions of chicken farms. And Todd takes full advantage of having the apartment to himself. James Tupper, of Men in Trees, continues his stint on the show as Sam’s boyfriend Owen.
Have any of you stuck with My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 9pm)? The show has been canceled, but episodes continue to air. Has it improved since the first couple of episodes? I sure hope so, though I guess if it’s become a good show that would just make the cancellation a bummer. Tonight’s new episode is a Thanksgiving episode. Edward tries to find out who killed his parents.
Shirley (Candice Bergen) just wants an intimate Thanksgiving dinner with Carl Sack (John Larroquette), but of course things don’t go as planned on Boston Legal (ABC, 9:02pm). Yup, pretty much all the other main characters on the show wind up at Shirley’s for turkey too and that’s not all– Larry Miller returns as named partner Edwin Poole. This should certainly be fun. Only three more hours of this unusual series to go after this episode. An episode airs next Monday and then there’s a special two-hour series finale on Monday, December 8th. I’m really gonna miss this show.
Valkyrie: The Plot to Kill Hitler (History Channel, 9pm – 11pm and 1am – 3am). A look at the Valkyrie plot– there’s a new movie coming out about this too.
Rerun of “The Con Man in the Meth Lab” episode of Bones (TNT, 9pm) which just aired for the first time a couple of weeks ago on FOX. It’s the one with Brendan Fehr as Booth’s younger brother.
A “savage killer runs rampant” on CSI: Miami (CBS, 9pm).
Late Night
Denis Leary on a rerun of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Paul Simon on a rerun of The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).
Nicole Kidman, Simon Baker, Kanye West on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Ron Howard, the Jonas Brothers on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Mary Steenburgen, Eamonn Walker, Low vs. Diamond on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).
Hugh Jackman, Marge Klindera, Tom Morello on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).
Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Anna Torv, the Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).
Kat Von D, Jim Norton, Young Jeezy on a rerun of Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).
