News & Notes

ABC has not (yet) ordered more episodes of Pushing Daisies and they’ve completed filming of all thirteen episodes (which were previously ordered). (Tonight’s episode is the sixth for this season.) Most folks think that will be it for the show and it will be canceled, but all is not lost quite yet– it appears the only thing that could save this remarkable show is if more viewers tune in tonight than have previously. Ratings need to be really good tonight (and next week) for the show to have any chance of survival. If you like the show or just approve of original television that isn’t like the rest of the stuff out there, please watch tonight and get other people to watch (especially any Nielsen families you may know!). If you have a DVR (like a TiVo), please record the show tonight as the DVR numbers sometimes are counted for ratings purposes. (Heck, if you can record the show on your TiVo tonight, please do so even if you don’t intend to watch the show.)

My fellow Vidiot of TeeVee wrote an excellent piece about Pushing Daisies recently which you should check out. Nathan loves the show and today is his birthday and the best gift you could give him is to watch and/or record the show tonight. Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Still sick, but better than I was on Monday and Tuesday. Somewhat abbreviated picks as a result.
