News & Notes
I’m having some serious repetitive stress pains in my right hand, wrist, and arm. Not fun! Painful to use the computer for more than a couple or few minutes at a stretch. Not good. Plus had some other wacky health problems on Friday which meant no picks that day or this weekend. I may yet have to put the picks on hiatus for a bit to give my arm a rest and deal with some other stuff. I am not happy about this.
Gonna endeavor to do picks today, but may be very brief about it. I appreciate your understanding.
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and Prison Break don’t air tonight because FOX is airing the National League Championship Series; new episodes of both are scheduled to air on Monday, October 20th.
If you got used to watching Life on Monday nights, you should know that the show will now just be airing in it’s regular timeslot on Fridays at 9pm on NBC.

Primetime
A&E airs a marathon of The Cleaner episodes (A&E, 1pm – 3am).
Bryce Larkin is back in tonight’s new episode of Chuck (NBC, 7pm) and that’s pretty awesome; Matthew Bomer reprises the role. I’ve seen this episode and like it a lot.
I really enjoy both The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 7pm) and How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7:30pm) so I’m happy to see new episodes on the schedule for tonight.
Blair, Serena, Dan, Nate, and Chuck all visit Yale on a new episode of Gossip Girl (CW, 7pm).
Claire decides to go after a villain on her own tonight on Heroes (NBC, 8pm; airs again on G4 at 9pm tomorrow and on Wedneday at 4pm); the villain she goes after is played by Andre Royo, who is best known to most folks for having played “Bubbles” on The Wire. And yes, Jamie Hector is also playing a villain on the show this season, he played “Marlo” on The Wire. David Anders, who was “Sark” on Alias, is also back on the show this season. ‘Cause we need more characters! Or not. I’m not liking this season thus far really, even though a lot of stuff is happening. Losing interest rapidly.
Samantha and her mother team up for a dance competition on the season premiere of Samantha Who? (ABC, 8:31pm). They’re competing against a woman her Mom sees as a nemesis– she’s played by Cybill Shepherd. I really enjoy this show and am glad it’s back for another season. As with most ABC series, if you are unable to watch this tonight, you can watch it starting tomorrow on ABC.com.
Series premiere of My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 9pm). Christian Slater stars as a tough spy named “Edward” but the catch is that when Edward is done with his missions, he turns into a mild-mannered office worker named “Henry” who has no idea he has a split personality. Um. It’s kinda confusing and involves some ridiculous technology (of course). The first episode explains this to some degree and I’m intrigued enough with the premise that I’m gonna try at least a couple more episodes before I decide if I’m gonna commit to watching this. If you’re already a fan of something else that airs during this timeslot and can’t record an additional item, I wouldn’t bother with this or else I’d check out one of the later airings. If you’re a fan of Slater or think the premise sounds interesting, you might want to give it a look. The pilot is a bit messy, to say the least, and they’ve already changed showrunners for this series once. This first episode is scheduled to air again on Friday at 6pm on the Sci-Fi Channel and on Saturday at 8pm on NBC.
Kyle Secor guest stars on Boston Legal (ABC, 9:01pm) as a man who is accused of murder; you may remember Secor for playing “Tim Bayliss” on Homicide or for his work on Commander-in-Chief, Veronica Mars, or any number of other shows. The character he plays here is married to Alan Shore’s ex (who is played by Ally Walker of Tell Me You Love Me and Profiler). Brenda Strong also guest stars, you may know her from Desperate Housewives, Everwood, Sports Night, or some other thing.
Bobbi defends a veteran who uses drugs for pain control, Jerry agrees to have his client’s case moved to a bench trial, and more on a new Raising The Bar (TNT, 9pm and midnight, also airs at 10pm on Tuesday).
