Miss a recent episode of Bones? The episodes “The Finger in the Nest” will air on Monday, October 13th at 10pm on TNT; “The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond” will air on Monday, October 20th at 10pm on TNT.
Having wrist pain left me trying to minimize time spent online and then my net.connection went away which forced the issue. As a result, the picks are up late today. Sorry about that.

The “Thriftiest Family in America” on a new Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

Emerson, Ned, and Chuck go in search of a teenage girl who ran away to the circus on a new Pushing Daisies (ABC, 7pm). I like this episode more than the season premiere and next week’s episode is even better. Gotta like a show that improves as it goes, eh? Ratings for the premiere weren’t very good, please give this show a try (and if you like it, tell your friends to watch).
Skeletal remains are found in the Chesapeake Bay on a new Bones (FOX, 7pm – 8:01pm). David Gallagher (of 7th Heaven) is among the guest stars. DVR/VCR Alert: This season, my recordings of Bones on my TiVo have been cutting out before the episodes are over. Looks like FOX has finally updated their listings data for the show to reflect that episodes are actually running from 7pm ’til 8:01pm these days.
Tyra surprises the women by working with them in one-on-one photo shoots and then it’s time for “The Fiercee Awards” on a new America’s Next Top Model (CW, 7pm; also on Friday at 8pm). Note that the rebroadcasts of episodes now air on Friday (not Sunday as they have in the past).
Series premiere of The Tony Rock Project (My Network TV, 7pm). Tony Rock is the younger brother of Chris Rock. In this new show, “he observes the hilarious habits of regular people” using on-the-street interviews and hidden cameras.
Mike and Zoe (and KITT, presumably) go undercover in Baja on a new Knight Rider (NBC, 7pm; also on Saturday at 7pm).
Business at the gym picks up after Barb is profiled in a business journal on a new The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS, 7pm).
That genius Gary finally realized that once his ex gets married, he’ll no longer have to pay spousal support on Gary Unmarried (CBS, 7:30pm). So of course he tries to encourage the happy couple to set a wedding date.
Luke Perry guest stars as a cult leader on a new Criminal Minds (CBS, 8pm). What more needs to be said? Oh alright, maybe you might also want to know that Kathleen Wilhoite and Jeff Fahey also guest star.
Matt considers becoming an emancipated minor on a new Friday Night Lights (The 101 on DirecTV, 8pm and 11pm; also airs on Friday at 8pm and 11pm). The 101 is a station that’s only available on DirecTV; these episodes of Friday Night Lights will air on NBC starting in February.
“A team returns to the Sea of Cortez with improved technology in hopes of confirming a sighting of a 100-foot squid some 1,000 feet below the ocean’s surface” on MonsterQuest (History Channel, 8pm and midnight).
Tom Amandes, who was awesome as “Dr. Abbott” on Everwood, guest stars on a new Private Practice (ABC, 8pm). I’m guessing Naomi isn’t wild about the hostile takeover of the clinic. I’m still watching this show because I keep hoping it will improve. The season premiere didn’t impress me.
Part 1 of the season finale of Project Runway (Bravo, 8pm, 10pm, 1am).
New Inside the NFL (Showtime, 8pm).
Rerun of last night’s new episode of 90210 (CW, 8pm).
Back to back episodes of ‘Til Death (FOX, 8pm, 8:30pm). Alan Thicke guest stars in the first episode; Vicki Lewis and Nick Bakay guest star in the second episode.
News breaks about a fire and a death on a new Dirty Sexy Money (ABC, 9:01pm). And then there’s fallout from the arrest of a family member, too. And just what does the character played by Lucy Liu do for a living? Kenny G makes an appearance as himself. I found the death in the season premiere awfully contrived and convenient (in some ways), but I’m still hooked on this show and willing to see where it goes next. I honestly don’t need the show to be “dirtier” or “sexier” as they keep saying it will be this year, I’m interested in good drama that comes naturally from interesting characters in a challenging situation.
Ozzy Osbourne, Phyllis Diller, Susan Lucci, the FBI’s investigation of “That Darn Cat,” the Super Bowl half-time flush, and Marilyn Monroe are all somehow part of the topics covered in the season premiere of TV Land Myths & Legends (TV Land, 9pm and midnight).
A small favor for Piney’s old war buddy turns into a big problem for the club on a new Sons of Anarchy (FX, 9pm, 10:02pm, midnight; also on Sunday at 10pm). DVR Alert: this episode has a running time of 62 minutes.
A look at a “river of death” on a new Jurassic Fight Club (History Channel, 9pm and 1am). Evidence suggests that there was a huge prehistoric battle where an entire herd of plant-eating dinosaurs was killed by large predators.
New K-9 Cops (Animal Planet, 9pm, 11pm, 4am).
Nico butts heads with the new CEO (played by James Lesure of Las Vegas) on a new Lipstick Jungle (NBC, 9pm). Victory continues to see her contractor. And Wendy is consumed by her John Lennon movie project.
An air marshal is found murdered shortly after take off on a new CSI: NY (CBS, 9pm). Fortunately Mac just happens to be on the flight. Hmmm. Nelly guest stars.
The competitors must redesign some offices on a new Top Design (Bravo, 9pm, midnight, 2am).
Fall premiere of South Park (Comedy Central, 9pm and 11pm).
Sarah gets high for the first time in the fall premiere of The Sarah Silverman Program (Comedy Central, 9:30pm and 11:30pm).
