Primetime
Baseball: Cubs at Astros (ESPN, 6pm) followed by Baseball Tonight (ESPN, 9pm or so).
Basketball: Spurs at Hornets (TNT, 7pm).
A new episode of Antiques Roadshow (PBS, check your local listings) from Las Vegas.
More about FDR on a rerun of American Experience (PBS, check your local listings).
The season finale of Bones (FOX, 7pm) of course involves the Gormogon serial killer. I’m pleased to report that Bones will be back next season; it’s scheduled to air on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Fall on FOX, then move to Fridays at 7pm at midseason when American Idol returns.
It’s time for Lily’s wedding in the season finale of Gossip Girl (CW, 7pm; also on Sunday at 5pm), it’s also time for Blair to face off with Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg) and for Serena to come clean with Dan. I just got caught up with a couple of episodes after falling behind and I’m still hooked on this show– I was a little worried there by Serena’s big secret and I’m still unsure whether this Georgina storyline will work out to be a Good Thing, but I’m sure I’ll be watching when the show returns next season (same night and time: Mondays at 7pm on the CW).
After Penny breaks up with her boyfriend, Leonard asks her out on a date on the season finale of The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 7pm). For some insane reason, some of them turn to Sheldon for advice. Eek! This show sure improved and grew on me as the season wore on, it really shines when focused on the geeky stuff. Big Bang Theory will be back next season on the same night and time (Mondays at 7pm on CBS) and it looks like reruns will air throughout the summer.
Usher performs, the junior ballroom champions are crowned, and the nine previous “fall stars” return in part one of the two-part season finale of Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 7pm - 8:05pm). DVR/VCR Alert: Some listings say this runs ’til 8:02pm, others say it may run as late as 8:05pm. The final three competitors perform too, of course. Okay, some of that may happen in the two-hour conclusion of this two-part finale– I’m guessing part one which airs tonight is mostly the final three performing.
Two new “lost episodes” of Little People, Big World (TLC, 7pm and 10pm, 7:30pm and 10:30pm).
Alan Ruck (of Spin City) returns as Dean Bowman on a new Greek (ABC Family, 7pm; also Tuesday at 11pm and next Monday at 6pm). Casey bends the rules to save the spa day or something.
New episodes of these shows on HGTV tonight: Designed to Sell (HGTV, 7pm and 11pm), Curb Appeal (HGTV, 7:30pm and 11:30pm), Hidden Potential (HGTV, 8:30pm and 12:30am), and House Hunters (HGTV, 9pm and 1am).
Ted is in an accident and that causes him to re-evaluate some things about his life on the season finale of How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7:30pm). This sounds serious, but knowing this show I’m betting it’s also funny. Sarah Chalke (of Scrubs) continues her guest stint on the show. I’m quite happy that this show will be back next season, on the same night and time (Mondays at 7:30pm on CBS); it also looks like they’ll be airing reruns throughout the summer so if you aren’t yet hooked on this show, you can give it a chance. Really is one of the best comedies currently in production.
“Where’s the Beef: Taco Bell, KFC and Subway” on a new Heavyweights (Food Network, 7:30pm and 2:30am).
Part two (of two) of the season finale of House (FOX, 8pm). Well, this looks to be an incredibly angsty hour of television and I can’t wait to see it. For me, like many, the most interesting relationship on the show is the one between House and Wilson and it looks like this episode will feature their friendship prominently. House will be back next season; it will air on Tuesdays at 7pm in the Fall, then move to Wednesdays at 7pm at midseason (once American Idol returns).
Charlie meets the grown daughter of the woman he’s dating in the season finale of Two and a Half Men (CBS, 8pm) and knowing Charlie, I think we can all imagine what he wants to do with her. Jane Lynch and Susan Blakely guest star. This show will be back next season on the same night and time (Mondays at 8pm on CBS).
Kris and Wildfire get one last run together on a new Wildfire (ABC Family, 8pm and 11pm).
DeAnna Pappas, who was rejected on The Bachelor, stars in the season premiere of The Bachelorette (ABC, 8:02pm or 8:05pm - 10pm).
Mike travels to Alaska where he cleans up an oil spill and then travels to Minnesota to pull a car out of a lake on a new episode of Dirty Jobs (Discovery, 8pm and midnight) where he works as part of an “ice salvage crew”. Rerun of the “Turkey Inseminator” episode at 7pm and 11pm.
One new episode of of Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 8pm and 11pm) is followed by some reruns.
Everyone “faces their fears” in the season finale of One Tree Hill (CW, 8pm). For some inexplicable reason this show will be back next season on the same night and time (Mondays at 8pm on the CW). I just don’t understand the attraction of this show, despite having given it a few chances.
Season finale of Rules of Engagement (CBS, 8:30pm). This show was picked up by CBS to return at midseason/winter next season.
New episode of Verminators (Discovery, 9pm and 1am).
New episode of America’s Port (National Geographic, 9pm and midnight).
Horatio puts his life on the line when someone is determined to take down his team in the season finale of CSI: Miami (CBS, 9pm). This show will be back next season on the same night and time (Mondays at 9pm on CBS).
New episode of The Paper (MTV, 9:30pm, 11:30pm).
Late Night
Sen. John McCain on a rerun of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Laura Dern, Grover Norquist on a rerun of The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).
Kevin Spacey, Sen. Jim Webb, Sara Bareilles on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Simon Cowell, Rob Schneider, Josh Groban on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Valerie Bertinelli, Paulina Porizkova, Estelle on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).
Kevin Nealon, Mary McCormack, Devotchka on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).
Ashton Kutcher, Isabella Rossellini, Gavin Degraw on a rerun of Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).
Josh Gomez, Ben Harper on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).
