Primetime

College basketball: Louisville at Connecticut (ESPN, 6pm), Oklahoma State at Oklahoma (ESPN, 8pm).

New Antiques Roadshow (PBS, check your local listings) from Orlando, Florida.

Michael Palin explores the countries that were once hidden behind the Iron Curtain on a new episode of Michael Palin’s New Europe (Travel Channel, 7pm and 11pm; also on Saturday at 11am).

When Amanda returns home, things are a bit awkward between her and Kyle in this new episode of Kyle XY (ABC Family; 7pm and 11pm).

The CW rebroadcasts the first episode of Gossip Girl (CW, 7pm – 8:31pm) yet again, but this time the runtime is 91 minutes. This special presentation features interviews, deleted scenes, outtakes, and special commentary by cast members. Huh. This could be cool for fans of the show and also possibly a good introduction for those of you who haven’t been watching the show. Then again, the new stuff might not add much, it’s so hard to tell with these things. This teen soap has grown on me; it’s no O.C. but Josh Schwartz and company still have a knack for bringing us a group of interesting teens and adults, both rich and not-so-rich.

As a kid, I loved watching Harlem Globetrotters specials. Maybe I’ll have a look at tonight’s special The Harlem Globetrotters: A New Generation (My Network TV, 7pm).

Rebroadcast of the first episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX, 7pm). I liked this first episode quite a bit. You need not have seen the Terminator movies for this show to work for you. The stars of the show are Lena Headey (she was “Queen Gorgo” in 300), Thomas Dekker (who played “Zach” on Heroes), and Summer Glau (who was “River” on Firefly). With Richard T. Jones (of Judging Amy) and Dean Winters (of Rescue Me and Oz).

Fashion Police: The 2008 SAG Awards (E!, 7pm and 9pm; also on the Style channel at 10pm). Lots more airings this week on E!

Ted’s new attitude has women from the present and his past showing interest in him in this rerun of How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7pm). Actually, he thinks maybe he can hook up with more than one woman in one night. Meanwhile, Robin goes on a rather disastrous date. Danica McKellar (best known for playing “Winnie Cooper” on The Wonder Years) and Busy Philips (who was “Kim Kelly” on Freaks and Geeks) guest star.

The final episode of Enterprise (Sci-Fi, 7pm) is followed by the two-hour (or two-part) first episode (Sci-Fi, 8pm – 10pm). Seems a bit backwards to me, but then maybe it’s just the run cycling around back to the beginning.

Alan sets Charlie up with a judge (played by Ming Na of ER) in this rerun of Two and a Half Men (CBS, 7:30pm). Their double-date doesn’t go well.

Berta: “What’s this broad got that’s so special?”
Charlie: “A brain.”
Berta: “What are you going to do with a brain?”
Charlie: “It doesn’t matter, she’ll never call me.”
Berta: “Awww, don’t talk like that. Just because she’s smart and successful doesn’t mean she’s not damaged enough to go out with you.”
from Two and a Half Men

The State of the Union address is featured at 8pm on many stations. That’s why tonight’s primetime schedule (on the major networks at least) is a bit odd.

Kris sneaks back to town in part two of the two-part season premiere of Wildfire (ABC Family, 8pm; also tomorrow at 11pm).

Series premiere of In Treatment (HBO, 8:30pm and 11:15pm). Full episodes will be made available online. Gabriel Byrne stars in this new HBO series about a psychoanalyst and his patients. The unique thing about this show is that half-hour episodes air five nights a week, with a different patient as the focus each night. It’s as if we’re following this character through the week, watching one session each night. Melissa George (of Alias, Thieves) plays the patient who visits the therapist on Monday nights. On Friday nights, we watch the character by Gabriel Byrne see his own therapist and talk about his life (and work, perhaps). I haven’t had a chance to see any of this show yet, but should see some episodes soon and will let you know what I think. It has been well-reviewed so far and sounds like it could be an interesting series. Other actors who’ll appear regularly are: Josh Charles (of Sports Night), Blair Underwood (of Dirty Sexy Money, L.A. Law), Embeth Davidtz, Dianne Wiest, Mia Wasikowska, and the always fabulous Michelle Forbes (of Battlestar Galactica: Razor, Homicide: Life on the Street).

Chef and author Anthony Bourdain pays a visit to Greece on a new Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (Travel Channel, 9pm, 10pm, 1am).

Lee Child is featured on a new Murder By The Book (Court TV, 9pm and 1am).

Mystery Diagnosis (Discovery Health Channel, 9pm and midnight) features the case of “The Woman Who Kept Falling Down”.

Season premiere of Making the Band (MTV, 9pm; there’s a special at 8pm too).

Sam is shocked to learn that one of her ex-boyfriends has a restraining order against her in this rerun of Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30pm). This episode is very funny, but also a little painful as Samantha makes things worse by trying to make nice with her ex. Plus she’s got Daddy issues.

Michael hijacks the production of a new Dunder Mifflin ad, Dwight spends some time in Second Life in this rerun of The Office (NBC, 9:30pm). (Do you spend time in Second Life? Look me up some time, I’m “Laurel Oh”).

Jim: “You playing that game again?”
Dwight: “Second Life is not a game. It is a multi-user, virtual environment. It doesn’t have points or scores. It doesn’t have winners or losers.”
Jim: “Oh, it has losers.”
  from The Office

Late Night

Jessica Alba, Julie Chen, the Whigs on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Denis Leary, Bonnie Somerville, Deana Carter on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).
