I’ve been remiss in not mentioning this deal until now: Amazon has Twilight Zone: The Complete Definitive Collection available for $170 right now which is really an amazing deal. The set contains all 156 episodes of the original series, plus a ton of extras (which is unusual for a set for a series as old as this one).

Sneak peak at The Real Housewives of New York City (Bravo, 6:30pm). The series premiere airs on March 4th. This special introduces the women who’ll be the stars of the new show.
Filmmaker John Sayles is tonight’s guest programmer for Turner Classic Movies, he’ll be talking with Robert Osborn about his film selections before and after they each air tonight. His picks are Park Row (TCM, 7pm), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (TCM, 8:30pm), Two Women (TCM, 10:45pm, letterboxed), and Paisan (TCM, 12:30am). You can read more about this event on the TCM website including more about Sayles and about these movies. Very cool.
A new Frontline looks at what it’s like Growing Up Online (PBS, check your local listings; in the Twin Cities it’s on at 9pm on KTCA Channel 2, at 8pm on KAWB). “The impact of the Internet on adolescence focuses on children who are harassed or bullied and those who gain attention on YouTube.” Gosh, it’s a whole different world from when I grew up online (I started out online when I was a teen or pre-teen as part of the first generation where that was possible).
A look at the auditions in San Diego on a new American Idol (FOX, 7pm).
One of Gibbs’ ex-wives is called in for questioning in this rerun of NCIS (CBS, 7pm). And unfortunately for him, he’s got his current girlfriend Lt. Col. Mann (played by Susanna Thompson) working with him on the case. Plus his boss is another ex of a sort. Good times for everybody!
Ducky: “Only the dead know the true meaning of patience Timothy . . . no more places to go, people to see . . . except me of course!”
from NCIS
Rerun of the second-ever episode of Reaper (CW, 7pm). The vessel is a remote controlled toy truck and the bad guy uses electricity to wreak havoc or something a lot like it.
Sock: “Morning, Linda Blair.”
Sam: “That was hilarious.”
Sock: “Can you do that?”
Sam: “What?”
Sock: “Can you turn your head all the way around?”
Sam: “Sock, I’m not possessed.”
Sock: “Yeah, okay.”
Sam: “My parents sold my soul to the Devil and I’m a bounty hunter for Hell. Totally different.”
Sock: “Have you even tried to turn your head all the way around?”
Sam: “Yeah, it totally doesn’t work.”

Alas, it’s already time for the U.S. debut of the series finale of Life on Mars (BBC America, 8pm and 11pm).
The team is in trouble and split up in this rerun of the season premiere of The Unit (CBS, 8pm). How can you not watch a show that was created by Shawn Ryan (of The Shield) and David Mamet? If you haven’t been watching the show, there is a “previously on” that should catch you up with the mess the team is in at the start of the season (and this episode).
Tonight’s rerun of House (FOX, 8pm) is of the most recent new episode to air (which aired way back at the end of November). Why is it cool that we’re seeing this episode? Because it’s in preparation for a new episode that will air next Tuesday. Yay! I believe there’s another new episode after that one too before we run out of episodes for this season. This rerun is of the one where they treat a rock star.
Foreman: “He’s sick because he’s a drug addict.”
House: “No, he has every symptom you would expect from a drug addict.”
Foreman: “So you think it’s all too perfect? Some other disease is trying to throw us off its trail?”
House: “If he had four out of a possible 20 symptoms, he’d be a garden-variety druggie. Twenty out of 20, there is an underlying disease.”
from House
The dirty job du jour is that of cave biologist on a new Dirty Jobs (Discovery, 8pm and midnight).
Series premiere of The Bussey Bunch (TLC, 8pm and 11pm) which is followed by a second new episode (TLC, 8:30pm and 11:30pm). The Bussey family believes in God, Texas, and wrestling, or at least that’s what the promos say.
Cheryl’s out of town and other neighborhood mothers start to have pity on Jim and help him out on a new According To Jim (ABC, 8pm).
Peyton has her hands full with a musician (played by guest star Kevin Federline), Haley heads back to the recording studio on a new One Tree Hill (CW, 8pm).
Newlyweds Dougie and Cindy have their first fight, Leila distributes flyers about her real estate business (but there’s a big typo that causes problems), and Laird adopts a dog (that may not actually be a dog) on a new episode of Carpoolers (ABC, 8:30pm). If you haven’t seen this show before, it’s about four men who happen to carpool together and their families. Series was created by Bruce McCulloch of Kids in the Hall fame and yet it’s only occasionally funny. The cast of regulars includes: Jerry O’Connell (of Crossing Jordan, Sliders), Fred Goss (of Sons & Daughters), Faith Ford (of Hope & Faith, Murphy Brown), Jerry Minor (of Lucky Louie, Mr. Show), Tim Peper, Allison Munn (of What I Like About You), and T.J. Miller (currently seen in theaters as “Hud” in the movie Cloverfield).
Embryos go missing from a medical facility and it’s up to the SVU detectives to investigate on the season finale of Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9pm; also on Sunday Feb 3rd at 10pm on USA). Mark Moses and Janine Turner guest star.
The new episode of Boston Legal (ABC, 9pm) is titled “Roe vs. Wade: The Musical” and anyone who watches this show shouldn’t be surprised by such a title. In tonight’s new episode, Shirley Schmidt (Candice Bergen) defends a woman who steals something rather personal and then impregnates herself with the stolen material; Alan Shore (James Spader) defends the man she, um, robbed. And Jerry Espenson defends his ex-girlfriend Leigh in court. Guest stars include Mary Gross, Jere Burns, Elizabeth Dennehy, and Roma Maffia.
New episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (HBO, 9pm). Topics include: alcohol consumption at NFL games, sports agent Lloyd Lake discusses his allegations against football player Reggie Bush, NFL wives, and streaker Mark Roberts.
Sean gets an agent (for his acting career, that is) on a new Nip/Tuck (FX, 9pm, 10pm; also on Fri at 10pm and Sun at 9pm).
Brian Unger and Louis Bloomfield have a look at how they make cheddar cheese at the Henning Cheese Factory, what it takes to fit a running shoe with New Balance, and how one goes about building a Steinway piano on Some Assembly Required (Discovery, 9pm and 1am).
A college girl is caught up in a gruesome murder case on a new 48 Hours Mystery (CBS, 9pm) on a special night and time.
Kat moves in with her boyfriend and Hannah tattoos a mermaid for a tsunami survivor on a new L.A. Ink (TLC, 9pm, 10pm).
New episodes of Parking Wars (A&E, 9pm and 1am, 9:30pm and 1:30am).
Late Night
Another airing of the latest new episode of The Wire (HBO, 10pm). It debuted on Sunday. Another new episode is now available from HBO On Demand and it’s another great one, it debuts on HBO on Sunday.
Series premiere of The Millionaire Matchmaker (Bravo, 10pm, 12:31am). Next week the show will move to it’s regular timeslot (9pm on Tuesdays). In each episode third generation matchmaker Patti Stanger will try to find matches for two wealthy men. Stanger is founder and CEO of Millionaire’s Club, an exclusive dating service for very wealthy men.
Leslie becomes convinced that Buck has a drinking problem on a new 10 Items or Less (TBS, 10pm and 1am). Of course it’s not what he thinks and he ends up feeling old and alone until some of his co-workers cheer him up.
Sen. John Edwards, Diablo Cody, Josh Ritter, David “Fathead” Newman on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
The first three episodes (ever) of Without A Trace (TNT, 11pm - 2am). Guest stars in these episodes include: Bruce Davison, Megan Gallagher, David Paymer, Stacy Edwards, and Kyle Secor. See how this excellent show began.
Tony Shalhoub (of Monk), Becki Newton, Ryan Sickler on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).
Yes, most of the other late night talk shows may have new episodes, but they’re doing them without writers. And they aren’t usually announcing the guests in advance (or very much in advance).
