News & Notes
You can read the official reports on the WGA strike negotiations from both sides: hear what the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have to say and what the Writers Guild of America has to say.
I suppose my favorite Strike-related blog of the moment is LateShowWritersOnStrike.com which is a weblog by writers from The Late Show with David Letterman. Funny stuff, though the website isn’t very pretty and sure takes a long time to load but then these folks are writers, not web geeks.
I’m hoping the email issue is fixed, but I’ve noticed the website has been down or very slow at times lately. It’s always something, I guess. Thanks for hanging in here with me.

Primetime
Cary Grant and Myrna Loy star in Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (TCM, 7pm). They have their hands full when they try to fix up a big old house.
ESPN has NBA baskeball: Boston Celtics at Miami Heat, Lakers at Jazz.
A new Class of 3000 Christmas Special (Cartoon Network, 7pm and 9pm).
‘Tis the season for specials and reruns. I expect we’ll be getting more reality and game shows than usual because of the strike, along with shows like My Night at the Grammys (CBS, 7pm – 9pm). Viewer votes determine the top 25 moments from Grammy Awards broadcasts; artists share stories about performing at the Grammys. You get the idea.
(Late) Fall finale of Flash Gordon (Sci-Fi, 7pm and 10pm).
Smash is on his first recruiting trip, someone asks someone else for an open relationship, and, well, more drama on Friday Night Lights (NBC, 8pm). It wouldn’t be any fun if I told you everything that was going to happen.
New installments of What Not To Wear (TLC, 8pm and 10pm) and Fashionably Late with Stacy London (9pm and midnight). Angie Harmon (of Women’s Murder Club) appears on the latter show.
New special narrated/hosted by Gloria Reuben: Positive Voices: Women and HIV (Showtime, 8pm).
McKay’s sister is kidnapped on Stargate: Atlantis (Sci-Fi, 9pm, 11pm).
Rerun of an episode of Numb3rs (CBS, 9pm) from near the end of last season. Don and the team investigate a series of bombings. Kyle Howard is among the guest stars, he plays “Bobby” on My Boys.
Tonight’s new episode of Las Vegas (NBC, 9pm) is primarily about the fallout from the robbery.
I’m totally swiping the description from TV listings all over for tonight’s new 20/20 (ABC, 9pm): “The growing problem of drug abuse in the military; a French boy who reported being raped in Dubai; singer Jon Bauman talks about the proposed Truth in Music laws; photographer Alison Jackson specializes in celebrity look-alikes in staged photos.”
Late Night
Last new episode of Blood Ties (Lifetime, 10pm) for a while (consider this a fall finale I suppose).
Rebroadcast of a recent episode of House (USA, 10pm).
List of late night talk show guests from Sue Trowbridge.

Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer introduce the holiday gala starring the world-famous Rockettes on Radio City Christmas Spectacular (NBC, 7pm).
I really like the Jesse Stone seires of movies; Tom Selleck is darn good in them. They’re low-key and moody and I can’t get enough of them. This is a rebroadcast of one that debuted earlier in the year.
Debut of a new episode of Trading Spaces (TLC, 9pm and midnight). Here’s how TLC describes this episode: “Ryan is a writer for the weekly City Paper, and Aryon does operations at the art collective 1026. They’ll be swapping with Rose and Thom who are in the art-dance band Sweat-heart. These South Philly hipsters swap their pads and decorate each other’s digs.”
