Best Bets

New Ugly Betty (ABC, 7pm)
New My Name Is Earl (NBC, 7pm)
New CSI (CBS, 8pm)
New Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm – 9:07pm)
New Scrubs (NBC, 8:31pm)
New Without A Trace (CBS, 9pm)
New Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA, 9pm and midnight)

News & Notes

No 30 Rock tonight because of an hour-long My Name Is Earl.

Thursday seems to be the night of odd start and end times for shows, I’m not convinced I have all the data right as different sources report different things. So if you record a particular show on DVR or VCR, you might want to pad the recording where possible.

My websites (including this one) appear to have been down for a while today, but if you can see this things are working now. Grrr.

If anyone has any suggestions on a webhosting provider, I’m beginning to think a change is in order.

ABC has ordered more scripts for Women’s Murder Club.

Primetime

Betty and Henry go to see Wicked together on Ugly Betty (ABC, 7pm). Marlo Thomas guest stars.

If you enjoyed the Cops episode of My Name Is Earl (NBC, 7pm – 8pm), then you’ll be pleased to know that tonight we get an hour-long episode titled “Our Other Cops Is On!” Sweet!

Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the Supergirl movie, guest stars as Clark’s biological mother on Smallville (CW, 7pm).

Special two-hour celebrity edition of Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? (FOX, 7pm – 9pm). Clay Aiken and Regis Philbin are the celebs.

A “slasher film actress” is murdered on the set of one of her films on CSI (CBS, 8pm).

The Chief wants to hang out with the men of the hospital for a “gentleman’s evening” on Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm – 9:07pm). I guess ‘cuz things aren’t going so well with his marriage. Izzie and Cristina compete for surgeries. Meredith treats a survivor of a skydiving accident. And more! DVR/VCR Alert: Note that this episode runs long (I think Ugly Betty will also run long, though some listings don’t reflect that).

Rashida Jones guest stars as someone trying to lure someone away from the Scranton branch on The Office (NBC, 8pm).

Sam tries to bargain for Dean’s life on Supernatural (CW, 8pm).

Kim goes into labor on Scrubs (NBC, 8:31pm – 9:01pm).

New episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA, 9pm and midnight). Should be one with Goren and Eames, I think.

A woman goes missing after an office shooting on Without A Trace (CBS, 9pm).n Michael Nouri is among the guest stars.

Two new episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX, 9pm and 11pm, 9:30pm and 11:30pm).

Kari Matchett guest stars on ER (NBC, 9:01pm). She was a regular on Heartland and Invasion, also had a notable guest turn as a lawyer on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. I like her.

Elizabeth Rohm (of Law & Order, Angel) guest stars on Big Shots (ABC, 9pm). And the teleplay is by Rob Thomas (of Veronica Mars). And yet, I still don’t care.

Late Night

Check out Sue’s page for Late Night Lineups. Some good guests tonight.

Friday Daytime

Marisa Tomei on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

David Spade on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Josh Duhamel (of Las Vegas), kid inventors on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Martha (syndicated, check your local listings).

Jerry O’Connell (of Carpoolers, Crossing Jordan), “make over your undergarments” (I think they mean buying more attractive ones, not embellishing existing underpants), buffalo chicken chili on The Rachael Ray Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Bodyville: Women and Body Image, part 2″ on The Tyra Banks Show (syndicated, check your local listings). The discussion continues. “The women change out of their body suits and into their own clothes to talk more about the harsh judgments they were forced to make.”

“Oprah’s Great American Haircut” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). 100 haircuts are done at Harpo Studiois in 48 hours. Wow! And Oscar winner Hillary Swank is among those getting a new haircut on the show.

“Teacher Sex Scandal, Part 2″ on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings). More on the case of teacher Joelle Ogletree.
