Primetime

Baseball: Boston at Cleveland (FOX, 6pm). Game 3 of the American League Championship Series. Series is tied at 1-1. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Sarah’s got a friend from the CIA who wants help from Chuck (NBC, 7pm). Of course said friend is another very attractive woman; Morgan takes an interest in her (I’m guessing that won’t end well). The episode titled is “Chuck versus the Wookiee”.

Alton Brown talks peanuts in a new episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 7pm and 2am).

Robin dates a single dad and is surprised when she bonds with his kid on How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7pm). Brad Rowe guest stars.

Chris is supposed to move his Dad’s car, but he ends up moving it all the way to school to impress a girl on Everybody Hates Chris (CW, 7pm). Trouble is, Chris doesn’t have a license. Oddly enough, his Mom is spending time at traffic court with his brother and sister.

Anthony Hopkins pays a second visit to Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo, 7pm). He was on the show ten years ago and now he’s back.

Rebroadcasts of the latest episodes of Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO, 7pm), Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO, 8pm), Five Days (HBO, 8:30pm), and Tell Me You Love Me (HBO, 9:30pm).

Justin’s Mom insists that Raja join Justin for “Rocket Club” after school on Aliens in America (CW, 7:30pm). But then Raja is shocked to learn that Justin hasn’t exactly been honest with his parents about the club. Complications ensue in what sounds like a good episode.

Sheldon loses his job on The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 7:30pm) and things eventually get so bad for him that Leonard pays a visit to his mother (played by Laurie Metcalf of Roseanne which makes me wonder if the entire cast of Roseanne will guest star before the season is over). I must say, this series has grown on me. It’s okay, but still needs improvement. To be honest, I like the stuff with the guys best, the show doesn’t work as well for me when they do stuff or try to do stuff involving the neighbor from across the hall. I appreciate that they’re getting a lot of the geeky stuff right (like the Second Life reference last week, for instance).

Football: Giants at Falcons (ESPN, 7:30pm; preceded by pre-game at 7pm).

Mom Petrelli makes a “shocking confession” and we learn a bit more about the previous generation of Heroes (NBC, 8pm). Meanwhile, Micah’s cousin begins to develop some abilities of her own while MIcah is staying in New Orleans with his grandmother (played by Nichelle Nichols of Star Trek fame). And, well, lots more stuff happens as well, to be sure.

It’s the 100th episode of Two and a Half Men (CBS, 8pm). Ming Na continues her guest stint on the show as a woman Charlie is interested in. Jane Lynch returns as Charlie’s therapist. And former cast member Melanie Lynskey returns as Rose, Charlie’s stalker. Lynskey left the show to star in Drive, among other things, but Drive didn’t survive for long at all.

Lynn’s gotta choose between performing at an environmental rally and performing at the House of Blues on Girlfriends (CW, 8pm).

Rerun of the “Baseball Myths” episode of Mythbusters (Discovery, 8pm and midnight).

Rebroadcast of last night’s new episode of Brotherhood (Showtime, 8pm).

Christina Applegate stars in the series premiere of Samantha Who? (ABC, 8:32pm). She plays a woman who awakens from an eight day coma with a nasty case of amnesia. The more Sam learns what she’s like, the more she sees this as an opportunity for a fresh start. ‘Cuz it sure sounds like she was a horrible person before her coma. Jean Smart and Kevin Dunn play her parents, Melissa McCarthy (who was “Sookie” on Gilmore Girls) plays her supposed best friend, Jennifer Esposito (of Spin City) plays another supposed best friend, and Barry Watson (of What About Brian, 7th Heaven) portrays Sam’s live-in boyfriend. In the first episode, she tries to sort out these relationships and also makes nice with her doorman (played by Tim Russ of Star Trek: Voyager). Robert Duncan McNeill (also of Voyager) directed the pilot; he and Roxann Dawson both sure do a lot of directing for TV these days. Series was created by best-selling Irish author Cecelia Ahern and Donald Todd (of Ugly Betty).

Malik brings a woman home and she’s shocked to find out he lives with his parents on The Game (CW, 8:30pm). And Jason tries to earn points with his new coach by hosting Bible study at his house; ‘course he hasn’t been to church in 20 years so that might present some problems.

Baseball: Diamondbacks at Rockies (TBS, 9pm). Game 4 of the National League Championship Series. Colorado leads this best of 7 series 3-0.

Katie prepares for a big charity gala that’s quite important to her, and then her husband suddenly disappears on Journeyman (NBC, 9pm). Don’t you hate it when that happens? This time Dan finds himself back in 1995. He’s also got more time to spend with his former fiance and she’s got some questions for him about his marriage. Meanwhile, his wife asks his brother to be her date since hubby is missing. Once again, I think this show is more about the relationship drama and family drama and less about the actual cases that take place back in time. Interesting. And don’t Kevin McKidd and Reed Diamond look and sound like they really could be brothers?

New episode of Weeds (Showtime, 9pm and 11pm).

While they investigate the death of a college student in a car fire, the CSI: Miami (CBS, 9pm) team comes across evidence that a colleague thought dead may still be alive.

New episode of Californication (Showtime, 9:30pm and 11:30pm).

Ed hunts for ways to achieve lower electric bills on Living with Ed (HGTV, 9:30pm and 1:30am).

Late Night

Tony Snow on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Paul Glastris on The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Jake Gyllenhaal, Connie Britton (of Friday Night Lights), 50 Cent on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

James Spader (of Boston Legal), Lara Logan, Gloria Estefan on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC, 10:35pm).

Anderson Cooper, Christina Hendricks on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).

Michael Caine, Lizzy Cooperman on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, 11:37pm).

Danny DeVito, Mario Batali, Frankie Valli on a rerun of Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Tom Green, the Honorary Title on a rerun of Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Tuesday Daytime

Jake Gyllenhaal on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Susan Lucci (of All My Children), Amy Grant on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Drew Carey, Jon & Kate Gosselin and family (of Jon & Kate Plus 8), Angie Stone on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Joe Pantoliano, another simple supper, skull treat boxes, black peppered mussels on Martha (syndicated, check your local listings).

15-minute eye lift, Faith Ford, Jerry O’Connell on The Rachael Ray Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Do It Yourself Makeover” on The Tyra Banks Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“The Big Wake-Up Call for Women with Dr. Christiane Northrup” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

“The Dr. Phil House: Man Camp Newlyweds, Part 5″ on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings). It’s the conclusion of this edition of Man Camp.
