News & Notes

February sweeps has ended so now you’ll be finding a mix of reruns and new episodes on the networks. I better get back to posting updates regularly, eh? ‘Cuz I aim to help you keep track of this stuff.

Thanks to reader Nicole G. for making a $50 donation in support of this site! You rock! I haven’t received many donations in support of the site this season so every single one counts– from $3 to $50. Thanks also to Catherine P. for her monthly $3 donation and to David H. for his monthly $5 donation– those subscription sorts of donations are excellent too.

I’m not paid to put this site together except by readers like you who send me donations and gifts; I also earn a little bit when you shop via the links on this site.

Primetime

Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer (TCM, 7pm – 8:30pm).

Michael is determined to confront the President on Prison Break (FOX, 7pm). But isn’t Patricia Wettig busy on Brothers & Sisters? I guess she had time to pay this show a visit (thank goodness).

Lily moves in with Barney on a rerun of How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7pm).

Ted: (about Lily’s apartment) “Is that a toilet in your kitchen?”
Robin: “Or a stove in your bathroom?”
Lily: “Oh, that’s not just a stove, that’s a stove-ink-erator. A combination of a stove, oven, sink, and refrigerator. Stove-ink-erator. Isn’t that futuristic?”
from How I Met Your Mother

Chris faces impeachment on a rerun of Everybody Hates Chris (CW, 7pm).

The gang winds up back at the hospital on the early season finale of The Class (CBS, 7:30pm).

We finally meet Linderman on Heroes (NBC, 8pm; airs again on Friday at 6pm on Sci-Fi). Last week Eric Roberts turned up as one of the bosses of Horned Rim Glasses guy. And how awesome was last week’s episode? Really awesome. Sure is a tough act to follow. Hiro goes after the sword again. And Suresh supposedly makes some kind of breakthrough. And probably the less we know about any of this beforehand, the better. DVR/VCR Alert: Runs ’til 9:01pm.

The adminstration experiences a setback and Jack pursues some leads on 24 (FOX, 8pm). So it’s like every other episode, eh? You know Heroes is a much better show than 24– I’m just saying, is all.

Charlie and Alan encourage Jake to get along better with Judith’s fiance (Ryan Stiles) on a rerun of Two and a Half Men (CBS, 8pm).

Jessica Walter (of Arrested Development) guest stars on Rules of Engagement (CBS, 8:30pm).

Tommy’s still got quite the mess to clean up on The Black Donnellys (NBC, 9:01pm; airs again on Sunday at 4pm on Bravo). He spends most of this episode trying to cover his tracks and clean up the messes his brothers made. Kate Mulgrew shows up in this episode as the mother of the Donnelly brothers; naturally she’s at the hospital waiting for word on one of her sons. There are scenes in tonight’s episode that are rather brutal, just so you know. This is no EZ Streets or even Due South (two other shows created by Paul Haggis), but there’s potential here and I liked the first episode and the one that airs tonight (I’ve seen it already). Though one does have to wonder how these brothers could pull anything off (save for Tommy who seems to have all the brains in the family).

Chicago Cubs manager Lou Piniella, profile of the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team, New York Islanders head coach Ted Nolan on REAL Sports with Bryant Gumbel (HBO, 9pm with lots of additional airings of course).

A politician winds up dead on a rerun of CSI: Miami (CBS, 9pm) after supporting the use of eminent domain.
