Primetime

For some inexplicable reason, Sci-Fi Channel has a marathon of Psych tonight (Sci-Fi, 6pm – 10pm). They know the lead character isn’t actually psychic, don’t they? Though there are a couple episodes tonight that involves outer space (kinda) and they did do one a while back that was set at a Comic Book convention.

Jericho (CBS, 7pm) finally returns, but don’t get too excited as this isn’t a real new episode, but a episode that recaps the story so far (for those just joining the show or who may have missed some bits or forgotten what was going on). I may skip tonight’s episode, but I’ll be watching next week.

The commercials for tonight’s new Bones (FOX, 7pm) are claiming there’ll be Valentine’s Day shenanigans. Oh boy! Will Brennan get all romantic with that new agent or with good ol’ Agent Booth? Oh wait, that’s not why I watch the show. I guess there’s a case of some sort too. And it looks like Stephen Fry is still around as Booth’s shrink.

The black players vow that they won’t play in the next game unless someone apologizes for their comments on Friday Night Lights (NBC, 7pm). So yeah, you might say racial tensions are high and things are a bit stressful. I’ve heard from lots of readers who are loving this show and I sure like what I’ve seen of it (and hope to catch up with all the episodes at some point).

Season finale of Beauty and the Geek (CW, 7pm). You know what that means, right? The return of America’s Next Top Model is just around the corner (as a matter of fact, I have the next new episode right here, I should probably watch it so I can tell you a bit about it).

“And I say
What about Breakfast at Tiffanies (TCM, 7pm)?
And she says
I think I remember that film.” (Or something like that). Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard, and a cute cat. Please pay no attention whatsoever to Mickey Rooney.

The Knights of Prosperity (ABC, 7:30pm) are finally ready to rob Mick Jagger, but then Esperanza doesn’t show up for an important meeting and they have to go find her. Bobby Cannavale (of Third Watch) guest stars.

I’m totally hooked on Criminal Minds (CBS, 8pm) and judging by the ratings I’m not the only one. How about that two-parter? Yikes! I’m worried about Reid, but then all of the main characters on this show seem to be damaged in some way and have major issues. One of the strengths of the show is the attention to detail in regards to the lives of these people; I’m honestly more into the show for the stuff about the members of the team than I am for the people they profile. In tonight’s episode, there’s a serial killer at work who may be racially motivated.

It seems like thus far this season on Lost (ABC, 9pm), we’ve hardly spent any time back at the beach with Hurley and the rest of the gang; the focus really has been mostly with Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. In tonight’s new episode, Hurley and Charlie try to find out what is going on with Desmond as he’s been acting weird (and possibly seeing the future or reliving events or something crazy like that). If you missed last week’s new episode or want to see it again, it airs at 8pm. Note that ABC will rebroadcast tonight’s new episode at 8pm next Wednesday so if you’re used to watching the show at 8pm or that makes your schedule easier, for now at least you can do that– you’ll just be a week behind most of the rest of the world.

Alton Brown takes a look at “Cajun versus Creole cooking” on a new Good Eats (Food Network, 9pm and midnight).

When Allison wakes up from one of her dreams, she thinks she’s a completely different person on Medium (NBC, 9pm). And at least one of her daughters is very much looking forward to Valentine’s Day.

A music mogul is murdered (try saying that 10 times fast) on CSI: NY (CBS, 9pm).
