News & Notes

I’ve been sick all week with a cold or something. Argh. Very abbreviated picks today, sorry.

I’ve put a Current Grid online in the Schedule Grids section of the site. It reflects changes made to the schedule since the start of the new season. Though of course for the most up-to-date info, you’ll still want to read my picks.

I haven’t yet announced the winners of the Scrubs contest, in case you were wondering. It’s taking a little more time than I anticipated to get the entries all together so I can use a script to select winners at random. Expect an announcement tomorrow if all goes as planned.

Rumor has it that Medium may return to the schedule before midseason (as early as November) to take over the Wednesday at 9pm slot now that Kidnapped has been moved to Saturday nights. I surely wouldn’t complain about that as I like (and miss) Medium.

Times listed are for the Central timezone, if you’re in another zone, please adjust accordingly.

Primetime

New episodes of all the usual shows, as listed on the grid above.

Tony-winner Audra McDonald on Live from Lincoln Center (PBS, 7pm, though you should check your local listings). McDonald is also on Kidnapped occasionally this season and played one of Gee’s daughters on Homicide and she was in The Bedford Diaries last season, etc.

Game one of the NLCS was postponed due to rain yesterday, so that’s why you’re getting game 1 tonight on FOX.

Dick Cavett (TCM, 7pm 10pm) interview with Groucho Marx. This is obviously a rerun, seeing as how Marx is no longer with us. Followed by Marx Brothers classic A Day At The Races (TCM, 8pm).

Amber Benson (”Tara” on Buffy) guest stars on Supernatural (CW, 8pm). Oddly enough, the storyline even involves someone who “kills” vampire.

Kevin Federline guest stars on CSI (CBS, 8pm).
