Ugly Betty (ABC, 7pm) misplaces a proof of the entire magazine and as if that isn’t bad enough, the proof contains a photo of someone famous . . . before the retouchers got to it. D’oh! I liked the first episode and am very curious if I’ll like this one too. I can imagine some people checking this show off and really not caring for it, but I also know others were utterly charmed. I’m closers to being on the fence right now than most critics who seem to adore it.
Earl is inspired to check a specific item off of his list after seeing Catalina give a fellow maid a facial wax on My Name Is Earl (NBC, 7pm). Oh-oh.
Clark gets a cold on Smallville (CW, 7pm). I’m guessing this is actually a bigger deal than it appears at first glance, seeing as how Clark is Superman. I know I don’t want to be around when Superman sneezes.
Major League Baseball: Dodgers at Mets (FOX, 7pm). Game 2 of a National League Division Series. If you’re lucky, Scooter the talking baseball will not make an appearance.
Angela pushes Dwight to make a play for Michael’s job in a new episode of The Office (NBC, 7:30pm) called “The Coup”.
Izzie attempts a return to the hospital (at least to talk to the chief, that is) on Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm). And Cristina tries to help Burke in some fashion with his hand tremor. I’m guessing not just by disrobing in his room like last week. And I’m guessing Meredith starts “dating” both McDreamy and the vet (is she so desirable they’d both go for this? I’m not sure what has endeared her so to the Chris O’Donnell character). Tonight’s episode was directed by Adam Arkin.
According to one source for TV listings, “the bodies in the morgue give voice to their own murder investigations” on C.S.I. (CBS, 8pm). Sounds a bit arty, eh?
Series premiere of Joan Cusack’s Local Flavor (Travel, 8pm - 9pm, 11pm - midnight). Cusack has her own show! Sweet. She visits a bakery in France and other places in France in the first episode.
I feel it’s my duty to warn you that there’s a murderous clown on Supernatural (CW, 8pm).
Steven Eckholdt, Nora Dunn (of Saturday Night Live), and Ron Glass (of Firefly, Barney Miller) guest star on Shark (CBS, 9pm). James Woods and Jeri Ryan star.
Pratt takes over as attending on ER (NBC, 8:59pm) and John Stamos is one of the new interns. John Mahoney (of Frasier) guest stars as a gay man who has some tough stuff to deal with when his partner ends up in the hospital.
Rebroadcast of last night’s “Make Love, Not Warcraft” episode of South Park (Comedy Central, 9pm and 11:30pm).
Laura receives a “mysterious video” that generates some doubts about her late husband on Six Degrees (ABC, 9pm).
Season premiere of Drawn Together (Comedy Central, 9:30pm and 11pm). I don’t just hate this show, I despise it. Really. But I mention the premiere in case anyone cares, because I’m nice like that. In case you’ve forgotten (and why shouldn’t you?) this is a show about a reality show where the participants are animated characters. The episodes I’ve seen have been painful to watch and, you know, not funny.
Late Night
Late night talk show listings are now linked to in the sidebar on the right on the main page; I will still sometimes mention any listings I find particularly noteworthy here (and possibly in Best Bets).
