News & Notes:

The new design is online (more or less). It’s not quite done yet, but I couldn’t wait to get it online (I hope you can see why). Not everything looks quite right or works exactly how it should, but I’m working on it (along with the fab designer I hired).

I’ll be on FM 107.1 in the Twin Cities (and fm107.fm online) tomorrow not long after 11:40am Central time with Kevyn Burger and Colleen Lindstrom on the Kevyn and Colleen Show. I’ll be talking about the series premieres that are still coming up.

Times listed are for the Central timezone, please adjust accordingly (if necessary).

Primetime

Series premiere of Jericho (CBS, 7pm; airs again on Saturday at 7pm). This is one of my favorite shows of the new season; please check out my fall preview of it to get the full scoop on what I think after having seen the first two episodes. Can’t stand to miss Top Model or Bones or some other show tonight? This episode will air again on Saturday at 7pm.

Booth and Brennan and the team face off against a serial killer and a young girl’s life is at stake on a new Bones (FOX, 7pm).

Tyra and company are back on the season premiere of America’s Next Top Model (CW, 7pm; airs again on Sunday at 7pm). If you’re a Top Model fan, keep in mind that you can watch the rebroadcast on Sunday if there are other shows you want to check out tonight. Tonight’s episode is titled “The Girl Who Marks Her Territory”– I wish I could say they were just speaking figuratively! I’ve seen this season premiere and I think this is an interesting batch of would-be models (which always helps). I think half the fun of this show is finding out what the competitions are in each episode, so I’m not gonna tell you about them (sorry!).

Fifty competitors begin a concerted effort to lose weight on the season premiere of The Biggest Loser (NBC, 7pm - 9pm). Caroline Rhea hosts; there’s one competitor from each state, but only 14 stay together, the rest work (out) at home.

Nikki Reed (of Thirteen), Michael Badalucco (of The Practice) guest star on a new episode of Justice (FOX, 8pm). The lawyers defend someone who is accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend at a rehab center. This show just hasn’t won me over, it’s so very cold; Shark is a much better new show if you want one about lawyers.

Season premiere of Criminal Minds (CBS, 8pm). Last season ended with a cliffhanger, the season premiere presumably picks up where it left off.

Rerun of the last two hours of this past season of Grey’s Anatomy (ABC, 8pm - 10pm). A recap show airs tomorrow at 7pm, followed by the season premiere (ABC, 8pm Thursday).

Bailey: “Where is Cristina? Where are, where are all the little suck ups?”
Burke: “Excuse me?”
Bailey: “My interns. My ass-kissing, surgery-hungry, competitive suck-ups. Where are they? Why aren’t they here fetching you ice chips and morphine? Why aren’t they here sucking up? You know something.”
Burke: “I’m a patient.”
Bailey: “Preston Xavier Burke, what have you done with my suck-ups?!”
  from Grey’s Anatomy

Series premiere of Kidnapped (NBC, 9pm). I liked this show a lot, check out my fall preview for all sorts of details on this show.

Claire Forlani guest stars as the new medical examiner on the season premiere of CSI: NY (CBS, 9pm). Michael Nouri also guest stars.

Late Night

Johnny Knoxville on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

James Carville on The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Marg Helgenberger (of CSI, China Beach), ventriloquist Ronn Lucas and Scorch, Diana Krall on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Steve Carell (of The Office), Jamie Lee Curtis, Joan Jett on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC, 10:35pm).

Rebroadcast of last night’s new episode of Weeds (Showtime, 11pm).

Will Bob Newhart get his revenge on Conan for putting him in that glass box? Tune in to find out. Bob Newhart, Elle Macpherson, Jimmy Carr on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).
