Best Bets:

The O.C. (FOX, 7pm)
C.S.I. (CBS, 8pm)
Without A Trace (CBS, 9pm)
Red Buttons returns to ER (NBC, 8:59pm) after 10 years
John C. Reilly, Zooey Deschanel, Todd Rundgren, Joe Jackson on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm)

News & Notes:

There is a chance that some regular network primetime programming will be preempted tonight for a speech from President Bush. You’ve been warned. No word yet from any network that says they will pre-empt programming, but you never know. I’d say it’s unlikely because it’s the first day of sweeps, but I’d still doublecheck any recordings you’re making tonight (and possibly pad them).

Another sweeps period starts today.

I’m a bit under-the-weather, thus later updates than usual. Thanks for understanding.

Primetime:

Rebroadcast of the Battlestar Galactica miniseries (Sci-Fi, part 1 at 6pm – 8pm, part 2 airs from 8pm – 10pm). The new series has been great, the miniseries served as a pilot for it (in a way). I know a number of people who enjoyed the series who haven’t yet had a chance to see the miniseries that started it all.

TNT has more NBA playoff games.

Sandy, Seth, and Ryan travel to South Beach Florida to visit the Nana (Linda Lavin) on The O.C. (FOX, 7pm). Seth may get on a Spring Break series while in Florida. Oh-oh. Jaime King and Billy Campbell guest star. T.I. performs.

Joey (NBC, 7pm) “struggles” during a love scene with Carmen Electra. Madchen Amick also guest stars.

If you actually enjoy Blue Collar TV (WB, 7pm), you’ll probably want to check out The Ron White Special (WB, 7:30pm) and Mobile Home Disaster (WB, 8pm – 9pm). In the latter special, “Comic Bill Engvall and an eclectic makeover team renovate the Craig family’s mobile home.”

Celebrity Poker Showdown (Bravo, 7pm – 9pm; 1am – 3am).

Debbie Reynolds, Alan Arkin, Lee Majors, and John Ducey guest star on Will & Grace (NBC, 7:30pm).

An inmate at a state mental hospital is killed; a body is found in a crop circle on C.S.I. (CBS, 8pm).

Lisa Marie Presley on Larry King Live (CNN, 8pm, 11pm, 2am).

A 13-year-old girl goes missing on Without A Trace (CBS, 9pm) in the same small town where a 13-year-old girl was murdered seven years ago.

Red Buttons returns as a guest star on ER (NBC, 8:59pm); he reprises the role of Ruby which he first played 10 years ago (in the episode “A Miracle Happens Here” and following episodes) and accuses Carter of killing his wife.

New episode of Project Greenlight (Bravo, 9pm; airs again on Friday at 6pm).

Late Night:

Steven Levitt on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Paris Hilton, Supernanny Jo Frost on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Jane Fonda, Phil Michelson, Keane on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Cool Show Alert! John C. Reilly, Zooey Deschanel, Todd Rundgren, Joe Jackson on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm).

Fran Drescher, supermodel coach Willi Ninja, Puffy AmiYumi on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Rosie O’Donnell, 10-year-old art/poetry prodigy Akiane Kramarik, the Futureheads on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, check your local listings).

Jim Breuer, Donny Deutsch, Rhymesfest on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings)

Tomorrow / Friday:

“Once More, With Feeling” and “Tabula Rasa” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 6am, 7am). I love these episodes.

“There’s No Place Like Plrtz Glrb” episode of Angel (TNT, 7am).

Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: Quantum Leap (Sci-Fi, 7am – 3pm).

Performances from Las Vegas on Today (NBC, 7am – 10am).

Ellen Pompeo, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Dean Cain on Good Morning, America (ABC, 7am – 9am).

Ice Cube, latest Survivor castoff on The Early Show (CBS, 7am – 9am).

“V-Fibbing” episode of Chicago Hope (Discovery Health Channel, 8am and 3am).

Paris Hilton, Dean Cain on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Mariah Carey, Ellen Pompeo, guest co-host Yunjin Kim (of Lost) on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

“Raincoats and Recipes” episode of Gilmore Girls (ABC Family, 10am). Last season’s final episode.

“The Offer” episode of Ed (TBS, 11am).

“Smashed” and “Wrecked” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, Noon, 1pm).

Eric McCormack (of Will & Grace), Ty Pennington on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Cynthia Nixon, Tom Bergeron, the latest fired Apprentice on The Tony Danza Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Babes in Business: Teen Entrepreneurs” on The Jane Pauley Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Torn Between Two Lovers, Part 2″ on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

“You’re Not The Person I Married” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

“I Can’t Get Started” episode of Gilmore Girls (ABC Family, 4pm).

“Sanctuary” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm).

“The Anti-Natalie Intervention” and “Hello, I Must Be Going” episodes of Felicity (We, 5pm and 6pm). From early in season 3.

Project Greenlight (Bravo, 6pm).

“Send in the Clams” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 6pm).

Bite Sized Unwrapped (Food Network, 6:30pm).

Friday Primetime Preview:

NBA playoffs on ESPN and ESPN2.

New episodes of Hope & Faith, JAG, Law & Order: Trial By Jury, Living With Fran, Numb3rs, Reba, Star Trek: Enterprise, Third Watch, What I Like About You, and more.

I’ll have picks for Friday and Saturday sometime on Friday.
