Baseball: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox (ESPN, 6pm). Gosh, could ESPN air Yankees-Red Sox games any more than they do already?
NBA Basketball: Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers (TNT, 7pm); NBA Basketball: Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trail Blazers (TNT, 9:30pm).
Marissa throws a birthday party for Ryan’s brother on The O.C. (FOX, 7pm). Sandy and Billy Campbell go surfing together. And the usual hijinks. I’ve enjoyed the series as much this season as I did the first season; this is still a really fun show. The best moments are still the cool family ones between Seth, Ryan, Sandy, and Kirsten.
Rerun of the very first episode of Jake In Progress (ABC, 7pm). It’s cute. John Stamos, Ian Gomez (of Felicity), Wendie Malick, and Rick Hoffman star. It’s like Sex and the City, but with Stamos! Or something. I like the show, it’s fun fluff; but then I’m awfully fond of both John Stamos and Ian Gomez. Yeah, I think My Big Fat Greek Wedding would’ve been better if Gomez had played the role of the groom (as he’s Nia Vardalos’ real life husband). Can’t get enough Stamos? You might want to watch The E! True Hollywood Story: Full House (E!, 7pm - 9pm).
A rerun of part 1 (of 6) of Revelations (CNBC, 7pm and 10pm; airs again on Bravo and SciFi). Bill Pullman stars in this new limited run series. It’s slow-moving and I bet it’s gonna get cheesier and lamer as it goes on, but I kinda liked the first episode anyway (I reviewed it in yesterday’s picks).
Vincent Price stars in House Of Wax (TCM, 7pm).
Stephanie is the last member of her tribe in the “I Will Not Give Up” episode of Survivor: Palau (CBS, 7pm).
Joey (NBC, 7pm) realizes he can afford to hire an assistant on a rerun of this show. I gave up early on in the season; is anyone still watching? Is it worth watching? I did stick with Friends through the whole series, after all.
Jake finally goes on a date with the woman he met for a date in the first episode (Madchen Amick) in a new episode of Jake In Progress (ABC, 7:30pm).
The boss tries to boost morale by throwing a birthday party (even though it’s no one’s birthday) on a rerun of The Office (NBC, 7:30pm). Steve Carrell stars in this American version of the hit British series.
Jack (Jason Priestley) sees a woman die and then she asks him for help on a new Tru Calling (FOX, 8pm). But Tru’s day rewinds, too. This series has been cancelled, but FOX is airing the remaining episodes (there were six episodes filmed for the second season; this is the 4th episode).
The C.S.I. (CBS, 8pm) gang handles four different cases all at once in a new episode.
The teams create brochures for a limited edition car on The Apprentice (NBC, 8pm; airs again on CNBC).
A young psychic goes missing on Without A Trace (CBS, 9pm). K. Callan (of Lois and Clark) is among the guest stars. They also deal with the fallout from Viv’s collapse in the last new episode.
New episode of Project Greenlight (Bravo, 9pm; 6pm tomorrow). Watch as the winning script gets made into a movie.
It Came From Outer Space (TCM, 9pm). As a TV fan, I especially enjoy seeing Russell Johnson (of Gilligan’s Island) and Morey Amsterdam (of The Dick Van Dyke Show) in this movie.
The interns compete on a rerun of ER (NBC, 8:59pm).
Duchovny Alert! David Duchovny The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Anthony LaPaglia (of Without A Trace), Ana Gasteyer, Mariah Carey on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Farrah Fawcett, Gerard Butler, the Killers on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Duchovny Alert! David Duchovny, Widespread Panic on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:37pm). I should really remember to pay attention to my own picks; I forgot to watch/record Duchovny’s appearance on The Late Show last night. D’oh.
Andy Dick, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Louis XIV on a rerun of Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).
Fran Drescher, Anton Yelchin, Shooter Jennings on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS, check your local listings).
Charles Barkley, Joseph Arthur on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings)
The “Midnight Sun” episode of Northern Exposure (Hallmark, 1am). Joel gets energized by the midnight sun.
“Listening To Fear” and “Into The Woods” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 6am, 7am).
“Blood Money” episode of Angel (TNT, 7am).
Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: The Outer Limits (Sci-Fi, 7am - 3pm).
Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Todd Oldham on Today (NBC, 7am - 10am).
Billy Idol, Emeril Lagasse on Good Morning, America (ABC, 7am - 9am).
Latest Survivor castoff on The Early Show (CBS, 7am - 9am).
“Last One Out, Get the Lights” episode of Chicago Hope (Discovery Health Channel, 8am and 3am).
Mariah Carey, Kathleen Turner, Phil Mickelson on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).
Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and guest co-host Anna Kournikova on The View (ABC, check your local listings).
“Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days” episode of Gilmore Girls (ABC Family, 10am).
“Second Chances” episode of Ed (TBS, 11am).
“Triangle” and “Checkpoint” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, Noon, 1pm).
Ryan Seacrest, Fran Drescher on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Patrick Dempsey (of Grey’s Anatomy), KaDee Strickland, Tyler Florence, the latest contestant fired from The Apprentice on The Tony Danza Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Actors and filmmakers from the movie Open Water on a rerun of The Jane Pauley Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Extreme Envy” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).
Part 2 of “The Secret Lives Of Teenage Girls” with Jada Pinkett Smith, Venus and Serena Williams on a new Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Haunted Leg” episode of Gilmore Girls (ABC Family, 4pm).
“Hero” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm). It always brings a tear or two to my eyes.
“Crash” and “The Love Bug” episodes of Felicity (We, 5pm, 6pm). Excellent series by J.J. Abrams (creator of Alias and Lost).
Rerun of the latest episode of Project Greenlight (Bravo, 6pm).
“Scrap Iron Chef” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 6pm).
Cookies Unwrapped (Food Network, 6:30pm).
New Law & Order: Trial By Jury which concludes the two-part crossover that started on Law & Order.
New episodes of 8 Simple Rules, JAG, Joan of Arcadia, Less Than Perfect, Living With Fran, Numb3rs, Reba, Star Trek: Enterprise, Third Watch, What I Like About You, and more.
I’ll have full picks for Friday and Saturday online sometime on Friday.
