Info on Wednesday daytime TV is available in the “tomorrow section” of these picks. Full picks for Wednesday should be online soon.

Best Bets:

The Bernie Mac Show (FOX, 7pm)
Oz castmembers on The Jury (FOX, 8pm)
The Joe Schmo Show (Spike, 9pm)
NYPD 24/7 (ABC, 9pm)
Nip/Tuck (FX, 9pm, 10pm)
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Bravo, 9pm and midnight)
Cary Grant movies on TCM (TCM, 7pm – 5am)

News & Notes:

I never was all that fond of Judging Amy, but I always liked Dan Futterman as Amy’s brother Vincent. Futterman will return to the show next season. You’ll find lots more links to news & commentary over at TV Tattle.

TV DVDs due out today: season 1 of CSI: Miami, season 3 of Dawson’s Creek, season 5 of The Dick Van Dyke Show, season 1 of The Land of the Lost, Season 5 of Little House on the Prairie, season 4 of South Park, and season 1 of Wonder Woman. [More TV on DVD]

Daytime:

“The Pack” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 6am). From season 1.

Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy (of Before Sunset and Before Sunrise), Tobey Maguire, experts discuss Alzheimer?s disease and “other life-altering ailments” on Today (NBC, 7am – 10am).

Joe Nichols, Bob Leuci, summer fans on Good Morning, America (ABC, 7am – 9am).

Kirsten Dunst on The Early Show (CBS, 7am – 9am).

George Lopez, Reba McEntire, Bobb’e J. Thompson on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: Starman (Sci-Fi, 10am – 3pm).

Jane Kaczmarek, Jeff Probst on a rerun of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Vanessa Marcil, Richard Roxburgh, James Marsden, Elefant on a rerun of The Sharon Osbourne Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“A Family in Crisis: Stacy Drops a Bombshell” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings). Reruns of the first Family in Crisis, from the beginning.

Rerun of the “Cast of Friends Says Goodbye” episode of Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). It’s the interview from November that took place on the set of Friends (not to be confused with the interview that took place around the time of the finale).

No Buffy the Vampire Slayer rerun, the show may just be airing at 6am weekdays now (and sometimes at 1pm). You can, of course, buy or rent the series on DVD.

“Blood Money” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm).

“The Red Mass” episode of The West Wing (Bravo, 6pm and 11pm).

“Seeing Red” (tomato sauce) episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 6pm).

Walk, Don’t Run Indiscreet
Primetime:

TCM’s celebration of Cary Grant (their star of the month) continues with: Walk, Don’t Run (TCM, 7pm); Indiscreet (TCM, 9pm); Father Goose (TCM, 11pm); Dream Wife (TCM, 1am); and Operation Petticoat (TCM, 3am). I’d blather about these movies, but you’d probably learn more about them by reading what they say over at the TCM website (follow the link above).

A teacher (Don Franklin) convinces Vanessa to become a vegetarian just in time for Thanksgiving on a new episode of The Bernie Mac Show (FOX, 7pm). And Jordan tells scary tales of the kids’ table. This is an underrated, underseen show; I do hope more people check it out this summer.

I feel sorry for you if you’re trying to catch up with this past season of Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm) this summer, ‘cuz the WB sure is showing episodes wildly out of order. Last week’s episode (21st episode of the season) was the one where Luke’s sister got married, this week’s episode is the one where we meet Luke’s sister for the first time (12th episode of the season). Anyway. Luke’s sister shows up, so does Jess (though he’s not in this episode much). Digger and Lorelai go shopping together. Lane is staying at Yale, Paris dumps her boyfriend, etc. I watched season 1 on DVD this past weekend and boy is that one brilliant season of TV. I loved it when it first aired, love the episodes even more now.

Baseball: Houston Astros at Chicago Cubs (WGN, 7pm).

An inmate is on trial for the murder of the prison chaplain in a new episode of The Jury (FOX, 8pm). Lots of actors who have appeared on Oz guest star in this episode, including J.K. Simmons, Eamonn Walker, Scott Winters, Betty Buckley, George Morfogen, Jon Seda, and Mums. This episode is scheduled to air again on Friday, July 9th.

The women compete for a date with Outback Jack (TBS, 8pm, 10pm). As they struggle to survive in and learn about the Outback.

New episode of Summerland (WB, 8pm; airs again on Monday). The guy who works in the surf shop (Jay) apparently has an injury that has kept him from surfing, so of course folks encourage him to try to enter a surf competition or something. Ava decides they need to be more organized and I’m sure getting everyone to agree on organization goes well. Yup. Oh wait, I have seen TV before so I know things won’t go smoothly (at least at first). I’m still watching the show because I like Merrin Dungey and Shawn Christian (who I hated back when he was on As The World Turns).

Parts3 & 4 (of 4) of Armistead Maupin’s Further Tales of the City (Showtime, 8pm, 9pm).

Ramona and Owen get a thermostat of their own for their office and then disagree on what temperature to set it for on Less Than Perfect (ABC, 8:30pm). Kipp tries to convince Claude that his boss (Patrick Warburton) is better than hers (Eric Roberts).

Christian manages to break his nose during sex (yes, really) on a new episode of Nip/Tuck (FX, 9pm, 10pm). This episode airs again on July 2nd and July 4th.

I’m really loving The Joe Schmo Show (Spike, 9pm). This season is even funnier than last season (the “pearl necklace ceremony”! The “falcon twist”! And so on). Tonight’s new episode is titled “The Crisis” and if you’ve been watching you know it’s pretty safe to assume that Ingrid (or Jane Schmo) is pretty darn close to figuring out that the show isn’t real. I think they’ve been able to be more over the top this time around because they knew that even if one of the Schmos figure it out, they still should be able to keep going with the other one. This episode airs again on July 4th, 5th, and 6th.

The Fab 5 help a gay guy on a very special new episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Bravo, 9pm and midnight).

New episode of of NYPD 24/7 (ABC, 9pm).

Season finale of Real World: San Diego (MTV, 9pm). It’s preceded by a marathon of episodes from this season of the show.

Late Night:

Edward Conlon on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Robert Picardo and Andrea Martin guest star in the cool “Miracles & Wonders” episode of Crossing Jordan (A&E, 10pm and 2am).

“Redefinition” episode of Angel (TNT, 10pm).

Judy Gold, Hood, Patrice Oneal (of The Jury) on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Keira Knightley, Ambassador Joseph Wilson on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Richard Belzer guest stars as Detective John Munch in the “Unusual Suspects” episode of The X-Files (TNT, 11pm).

The “Dumb Bunnies” episode of Karen Sisco (USA, 11pm). Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman guest star.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sonic Youth, Steve Irwin on a rerun of The Tonight Show (NBC, 11:05pm or so, airs after a Wimbledon Update).

Mulder really wishes sleeping bags would fall from the sky in the “Detour” episode of The X-Files (TNT, midnight).
