Info on daytime Tuesday TV can be found in the tomorrow section of these picks. Full picks for Tuesday will be online soon.

Best Bets:

History Detectives (PBS, check your local listings)
Private Screenings: Patricia Neal (TCM, 7pm and 10pm)
Terry McAuliffe on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight)
Kirsten Dunst, Piedmont Bird Callers, Chris Robinson on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm)

News & Notes:

TV DVDs due out tomorrow: season 1 of CSI: Miami, season 3 of Dawson’s Creek, season 5 of The Dick Van Dyke Show, season 1 of The Land of the Lost, Season 5 of Little House on the Prairie, season 4 of South Park, and season 1 of Wonder Woman. [More TV on DVD]

I turn 33 next Monday. Woo. I’ve been doing these tv picks since I was 28. I’ve had a website since I was 22, I’ve been online since I was 14. Yikes.

Daytime:

Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: The Outer Limits (Sci-Fi, 10am – 3pm).

Mandy Moore, Michael Imperioli on a rerun of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Hilarie Burton, Paul Johansson, Frank Nicotero, Cypress Hill on a rerun of The Sharon Osbourne Show (syndicated, check your local listings; WGN, midnight).

“Weight Interventions” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

Rerun of the “How to Stop the Clock on Aging” episode of Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). With Bobbi Brown, Frederic Fekkai, and Michael Michele (of Homicide, ER).

Very first episode of Roswell (Sci-Fi, 3pm). Looks like the series will have another run at 3pm weekdays on Sci-Fi. Here’s hoping they keep it on long enough to at least air all the episodes once. (If you like the show, you may be interested in the season 1 DVD set). If you aren’t familiar with the show: it was fairly fun at times. About teens who live in Roswell and a few of them just happen to be aliens. It’s about their struggles to fit in, to stay hidden, to find out more about their origins. And it’s also about their love lives and relationships with family and friends (of course). Sometimes the show was pretty good, other times it was funny how cheesy it could get. William Sadler, John Doe (yes, of X fame) play a couple of the Dads on the show which bumps the series quality up a notch (IMHO).

No Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns this afternoon.

“Redefinition” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm).

“College Kids” episode of The West Wing (Bravo, 6pm and 10pm).

“Choux Shine” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 6pm).

Bizarro Unwrapped (Food Network, 6:30pm).

Baseball: Florida Marlins at Atlanta Braves (TBS, 6:30pm).

Primetime:

Another fascinating new episode of History Detectives (PBS, check your local listings). I think I’ve fallen in love with this show. In tonight’s episode, they investigate a board game that is a lot like Monopoly, but predates the supposed origin of it by a good 30 years. They also look into a walking cane that might be from the Lewis & Clark expedition (that journey starts in Richfield, Minnesota). The also investigate some watercolor paintings of Japanese internment camps.

A new interview with Patricia Neal on a new episode of Private Screenings (TCM, 7pm and 10pm). Followed by three movies that feature Ms. Neal: Hud (TCM, 8pm), The Subject Was Roses (TCM, 11pm), and A Face In The Crowd (TCM, 1am).

Two hour season finale of The Division (Lifetime, 7pm – 9pm). Jinny (Nancy McKeon) gets married (or at least is supposed to, you know how TV is). And the squad races to save some students.

David Cross, Molly Shannon, Philip Baker Hall, George Hickenlooper, and Jon Favreau on Dinner For Five (IFC, 7pm and 10pm).

I’m still watching North Shore (FOX, 7pm) and must say that I liked the addition of Tessa (as played by Amanda Righetti of The O.C.), though I’m already sick of her being threatened by that guy from her past. I’ve warned to the two guys who run the hotel, don’t mind the bartender and the other roommate . . . but I’m so very bored by the lifeguard and the extreme sports guy (and at times can’t tell them apart). I like Summerland better, I think; I still wish this show and that one were better shows because I wouldn’t mind some fun beachy summer fluff. You’re really better off going to an actual beach or reading a book than watching these. Boy were we all spoiled by The O.C. (I miss it!). In tonight’s episode: Nicole (Brooke Burns) is surprised (and a bit appalled, I think) when a bunch of her friends from New York City show up to throw her a surprise birthday party. They are, of course, a snooty troublemaking bunch.

Rerun of the Retro Future House episode of Monster House (Discovery, 7pm and 10pm).

Who’d've thunk Office Space (Bravo, 7pm) would ever air on Bravo? Where’s my red stapler?

Missy Elliott guest stars on Eve (UPN, 7:30pm).

Amy’s family (Chris Elliott, Fred Willard, Georgia Engel) spends Easter with the Barones on Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm). An attempt at family bonding over a puzzle doesn’t go so well for most of them, but Ray and Amy’s Mom Pat (played by Georgia Engel) stay up late together talking and working the puzzle. This, of course, does not go over well with the rest of them.

A couple of old friends show up at the Summerland (WB, 8pm) gang’s annual beach party and all heck breaks loose (more or less). Eh. The characters are growing on me a bit.

I still haven’t seen The Casino (FOX, 8pm), but I don’t think I really need to now that I’ve read Monty Ashley’s review of it.

The “Points” episode of Band of Brothers (History, 8pm and midnight).

“Red, White & Chew” and “Oldies But Goodies” Unwrapped (Food Network, 8pm and midnight, 8:30pm and 12:30am).

Part 2 (of 2) of the episode of Two and A Half Men (CBS, 8:30pm) with Jenna Elfman (of Dharma & Greg).

Second ever episode of Hope & Faith (ABC, 8:30pm). Hope and Faith go to the funeral of their Aunt, who they think stole a ring from their mother. Of course the aunt is wearing the ring while in the casket . . . (oh-oh). Ah, funeral humor. (Sorry, I had three beloved grandparents, one beloved great uncle, and one beloved great aunt all die in the past year: I just don’t find funerals funny. Not even for Chuckles the clown right now, and this show isn’t nearly on that level).

Canada Votes: Election Night (C-SPAN, 8:30pm).

Baseball: Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners (ESPN2, 9pm).

“A news anchor is left at the altar but turns the experience into something positive” in the third hour of Weddings (ABC, 9pm).

A look at Celibacy (HBO, 9pm) and how that relates to the scandals involving the Roman Catholic Church.

The “Baby, It’s You” episode of Law & Order (TNT, 9pm) concludes in the “Baby, It’s You” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (TNT, 10pm). From 1997. Season 8 of Law & Order, season 6 of Homicide. Second ever full crossover between the series. Jon Seda, Richard Belzer, and Zeljko Ivanek guest star in the Law & Order episode; Benjamin Bratt, Jerry Orbach, Carey Lowell, and Sam Waterston guest star on Homicide. Both episodes were written by Jorge Zamacona and directed by Ed Sherin. These originally aired during a week that found Richard Belzer also appearing as Munch in an episode of The X-Files (so one actor played the same character on three different shows in a single week). Remember that the episodes of Law & Order won’t be included on the Homicide DVDs.

Rerun of the first episode of this past season of CSI: Miami (CBS, 9pm). Heidi Klum, Quddus, Chad Lowe, and Alan Dale (of The O.C.) guest star. A model is murdered.

The two most recent episodes of Reno 911! (Comedy Central, 9pm, 9:30pm).

Late Night:

Terry McAuliffe on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Greg Giraldo, Todd Glass, Mario Cantone, Paul Mooney on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Kirsten Dunst, Piedmont Bird Callers, Chris Robinson on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm). Dave has new episodes all week.

Tom Hanks, Jackie Chan, 311 on a rerun of The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm). Reruns all week.

“Mr. Monk & the Panic Room” episode of Monk (USA, 11:30pm).

Johnny Knoxville, Elisha Cuthbert, the Distillers on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm). Conan is in reruns all week.

Clay Aiken, Dylan Walsh (of Nip/Tuck) on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Mark McGrath, the Alarm on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (CBS, check your local listings).

Joe Rogan, Kathy Griffin, Ben Kweller on a rerun of Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Tomorrow:

“The Pack” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 6am). From season 1.

Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy (of Before Sunset and Before Sunrise), Tobey Maguire, experts discuss Alzheimer?s disease and “other life-altering ailments” on Today (NBC, 7am – 10am).

Joe Nichols, Bob Leuci, summer fans on Good Morning, America (ABC, 7am – 9am).

Kirsten Dunst on The Early Show (CBS, 7am – 9am).

George Lopez, Reba McEntire, Bobb’e J. Thompson on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Kirsten Dunst, choosing a great pair of shoes, how to host the perfect July 4th party on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: Starman (Sci-Fi, 10am – 3pm).

Jane Kaczmarek, Jeff Probst on a rerun of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Vanessa Marcil, Richard Roxburgh, James Marsden, Elefant on a rerun of The Sharon Osbourne Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“A Family in Crisis: Stacy Drops a Bombshell” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings). Reruns of the first Family in Crisis, from the beginning.

Rerun of the “Cast of Friends Says Goodbye” episode of Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). It’s the interview from November that took place on the set of Friends (not to be confused with the interview that took place around the time of the finale).

No Buffy the Vampire Slayer rerun, the show may just be airing at 6am weekdays now (and sometimes at 1pm). You can, of course, buy or rent the series on DVD.

“Blood Money” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm).

“The Red Mass” episode of The West Wing (Bravo, 6pm and 10pm).

“Seeing Red” (tomato sauce) episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 6pm).

Edible Fun Unwrapped (Food Network, 6:30pm).

In primetime Tuesday expect lots of new stuff. Full picks should be online sometime Tuesday morning.
