Contest Update: I sent email to everyone who entered the contest yesterday afternoon/evening. So if you think you’re entered in the contest, you should’ve heard from me (if you haven’t heard from me, you should email me). Heck, if you have heard from me please reply to the email I sent you to let me know if you’re fine with having your name listed on the site. There is still time to enter the contest, I’ll accept entries until Noon Central Time (1pm Eastern Time) on Wednesday, March 31st. Contest details. I think there have been almost 40 entries, with about 6 donations totalling $60 or so and 7 gifts given so far. Thanks so much for your support!

The Homicide: Life on the Street Video/DVD FAQ has been updated to reflect the fact that Season 4 was released today. I also updated the Homicide Store front page and video page.

TV DVDs due out today include: Season 4 of Homicide: Life on the Street and Season 3 of C.S.I. and more. Check out my review of the Homicide season 4 DVD set. Thanks so much for ordering via my links!

I apologize for the site being down for so much of yesterday; the place where my site(s) are hosted had serious technical difficulties. They didn’t cope very well with a Distributed Denial of Service attack. I’m looking into finding another place to host my site, I’m happy to hear your recommendations.

Primetime:

NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament (ESPN, 6pm).

Rerun of part 2 of the 2-part “return of Jess” episode of Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm). Wherein Lorelai and Digger pretend to be pretending they’re a couple. And Jess avoids Rory (let’s keep it that way, shall we?). And Luke’s sister continues her visit.

The ten finalists perform “the music of Motown” on American Idol (FOX, 7pm).

Celeste Holm guest stars as an “elderly and eccentric tenant” on Whoopi (NBC, 7pm).

Robin Givens and Stuart Scott (of ESPN) guest star on One on One (UPN, 7pm).

The team investigates the death of a “Navy translator stationed at Guantanamo Bay” on a rerun of Navy NCIS (CBS, 7pm). I saw this episode the first time around and found it rather boring. Jessica Steen guest stars.

Chad Lowe and James Rebhorn guest star on Now and Again (Trio, 7pm).

James Patrick Stuart guest stars as Christine Baranski’s community theater co-star on Happy Family (NBC, 7:30pm).

Jessica Hecht and Kathleen Wilhoite are among the guest stars on a new Century City (CBS, 8pm). A mentally disabled man does not want to give up a brain implant that made him smart, even though the Government is discontinuing the program ‘cuz the implants tend to shorten one’s lifespan considerably. And a man is suing a woman for “mental anguish” after they spent the night together; apparently the woman had some “unique physical attribute.” No, I don’t know what it is. I’m a science fiction fan who also happens to like legal dramas, so I can’t help but watch this show. Doubt it’s long for the world, so I watch while I can.

The first of nine new episodes of 24 (FOX, 8pm). Just nine episodes/hours left this season. It’s now 4am; this year’s very long day started at 1pm.

Laura Linney, Rachel Dratch, and Ann Magnuson guest star on Frasier (NBC, 8pm).

Nana Visitor (of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) guest stars on According To Jim (ABC, 8pm).

Tempestt Bledsoe (of The Cosby Show) guest stars on Rock Me Baby (UPN, 8pm, 8:30pm).

Rerun of Significant Others is followed by a new episode (Bravo, 8pm and 1:30am; 8:30pm and 10pm and 1am).

Nestor Carbonell (of Century City, The Tick) guest stars on Scrubs (NBC, 8:31pm). The janitor introduces J.D. to his “twin brother.”

Brooke Burke guest stars on It’s All Relative (ABC, 8:30pm), which takes over Less Than Perfect’s timeslot for a few weeks. Less Than Perfect returns on April 27.

Another intense episode of The Shield (FX, 9pm, 10pm). This is the fourth episode of this (the third) season. I reviewed the first four episodes early this month. I’m happy that I now get to screen some shows ahead of time, it means I can do a better job here for y’all. One of the tough things about seeing the first four episodes so early, is it meant I had at least 5 weeks to wait before I’d see episode 5. Y’all are lucky: episode 5 airs next week, so you’ll only have a week to wait after the end of this episode. ‘Cuz at the end of the episode, if you’re like me, you’ll be dying to know what happens next. Episode is titled “Streaks and Tips” and is written by Glen Mazzara, directed by Scott Brazil. A public figure (an advocate for the homeless) is murdered in a carjacking and it’s up to Claudette and Vic and everybody to work this high profile case. The Strike Team and The Decoy Squad make a wager over who’ll bring in the suspect first. Things get even more tense between Shane and Tavon. Dutch works a poisoning case. And there are further developments on the home fronts and in all things political, of course.

A child posts graphic threats about his sister to the internet and it all leads to a billionaire being accused of child molestation on Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9pm; airs again on USA). Cindy Williams and Marlo Thomas guest star.

Scott William Winters (of Oz) guest stars on NYPD Blue (ABC, 9pm). Sipowicz thinks he’s a dirty cop.

“Contestants are subjected to a series of mental and physical challenges” on SpyMaster (TLC, 9pm and midnight).

Queer Eye is a rerun this week.

Late Night:

“Are You Now or Have You Ever Been?” episode of Angel (TNT, 10pm).

Richard Clarke on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Drive-Ins Unwrapped (Food Network, 10pm).

“Flat Is Beautiful” (pizza) episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 10:30pm).

Joe Yanetty, Kennedy, Keith Robinson, Tim Gage on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Matthew Perry, Lou Reed on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Amanda Peet, Adam Mesh, Kenny Chesney on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Bob Costas, Brian Posehn, Toby Lightman on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Al Michaels, Linda Cardellini (of ER, Freaks and Geeks), singer/dancer Mr. Phil on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Jill Hennessey (of Crossing Jordan), Raquel Castro, Eamon on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (CBS, check your local listings).

Matthew Modine, Linda Cardellini (of ER, Freaks and Geeks), Joss Stone on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Kids in the Hall (Comedy Central, 1am – 3am).

Tomorrow:

Still working on my picks for Wednesday.
