Ann Miller tribute on TCM
Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm).
New never-before-aired episode of Keen Eddie (Bravo, 8pm and midnight)
Oscar nominees were announced this morning.
Thanks to Christine for her donation (I didn’t mention her by name yesterday, but after I posted I figured out who it was).
And to Tina M. for sending me The Usual Suspects and The Tick on DVD. And to Sarah C. for sending me Season 2 of Alias on DVD! All stuff from my wishlist. Very excited to finally see all of Season 2 of Alias (I missed a lot of it last year). Will be cool to see the episodes of The Tick I missed, as well. These kinds of gifts mean a lot; when money is tight enough you can’t afford to spend money on fun things like this, it means the world to get ‘em as gifts.
I do hope to start getting picks done earlier in the day (again) as the week goes on, my schedule is a bit off since my weekend vacation.
You can now pre-order the Homicide: Life on the Street Season 4 DVD set from amazon.com (or from amazon.ca). Details about the set remain posted in the Homicide Video FAQ. Set is due out on March 30th. Great season of a great show.
Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (Sci-Fi, 10am - 3pm).
Betty White, Gavin DeGraw, Amy Smart on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Jamie Pressly (of Happy Family), Trishelle, Balthazar Getty, Rooney on The Sharon Osbourne Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Tyra Banks, Joe Cocker, Jason Roberts on The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Addictions” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).
“The Man Who Discovered Oprah” is reunited with Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). Plus moments with P.Diddy, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, and others from after the show.
“Flooded” and “Life Serial” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 3pm, 4pm).
“She” episode of Angel (TNT, 4pm). Bai Ling and Sean Gunn guest star. Weird trivia: the character “Gunn” was named as a tribute of sorts to brothers Sean Gunn and James Gunn. Sean Gunn is best known to me for playing Kirk on Gilmore Girls and it makes me giggle when I think of Gunn as being named after Kirk. Just saying. Also funny: Wesley and Angel “dancing” in this episode.
“Arctic Radar” episode of The West Wing (Bravo, 6pm and 10pm).

Another airing of part 1 of the 3-part miniseries Traffic (USA, 6pm).
Expect coverage of the New Hampshire Primary on lots of the news channels.
Turner Classic Movies pays tribute to Ann Miller by airing: On The Town (TCM, 7pm); Private Screenings: Ann Miller (TCM, 9pm and 4am); Easter Parade (TCM, 10pm); Kiss Me Kate (TCM, midnight); and Hit The Deck (TCM, 2am).
Lane has a storyline this week on Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm). Yay! Sebastian Bach returns as a member of her band and it looks like Mrs. Kim may learn that Lane’s in a band (or come darn close). Meanwhile, Lorelai isn’t happy about some developments in Luke’s life (so what else is new?) and Rory has some drama of her own with a guy (no not Jess, he doesn’t show up ’til next week). The show’s been uneven this year, but I still love it anyway. Remember you can now pre-order Season 1 on DVD.
Two more cool episodes of Bakersfield, P.D. (Trio, 7pm and 10pm; 7:30pm and 10:30pm). At least I’m told they’re cool, I’ve never seen the show (if only I got Trio!). Janel Moloney, Melora Walters, Bruce McGill guest star.
The kids try to build impressive science projects and (of course) the adults get involved on The Tracy Morgan Show (NBC, 7pm). This show would be better if it was more about Heavy D and John Witherspoon and the guys at the garage. Well, maybe that one funny kid could hang out there too.
“A Navy commander’s body washes ashore along with the bodies of two drug trafficker” on a rerun of Navy NCIS (CBS, 7pm). It’s not a great show and yet I kinda like to watch it from time to time, if only ‘cuz both Mark Harmon and David McCallum are just so darn likeable. And I like the goth chick in the lab, too.
Eddie and Pippin investigate a ring of pickpockets on a new episode of Keen Eddie (Bravo, 8pm and midnight) that never aired on FOX. Eddie also encourages Pippin to go to “a sex-aholics seminar” and Eddie may also get some tips on how to flirt. Cool show, nifty to have a new episode of this very cool show after all this time. Expect five more new episodes after this one.
24 (FOX, 8pm) gets increasingly preposterous. Not that it wasn’t in the first place, but c’mon.
Nathan quits the basketball team on One Tree Hill (WB, 8pm; rerun on Sunday at 4pm).
Part 2 (of 3) of Traffic: The Miniseries (USA, 8pm and 10pm; 6pm tomorrow).
When we last saw The Guardian (CBS, 8pm), he was a big old mess. Having had an affair, broken up with his longtime girlfriend Lulu (the fabulous Wendy Moniz), and then fallen off the wagon completely (to the point of taking hallucinogens). He messed up personally and at work. Now I guess Nick will have to get his act together. Why care? Simon Baker is good in this. And Dabney Coleman and Alan Rosenberg are fun to watch, too. Ditto for Wendy Moniz.
Chris Elliott guest stars (as a Reverend?!?) on According To Jim (ABC, 8pm).
“Bob Vila looks at Craftsman tools; John Deere combine” on John Ratzenberger’s Made in America (Travel, 8pm and 11pm).
Remember when Sammo Hung guest starred on Early Edition (PAX, 8pm)? I do. He was playing his character from Martial Law, so it was a crossover episode of sorts. Martina McBride and Lauren Tom also guest star.
Dateline NBC Special: New Hampshire Primary (NBC, 8pm).
“Phish concert; Dollywood; surfers” and ” Yanni concert; 50 Cent concert; WWE” on Parking Lot (Trio, 8pm and 11pm; 8:30pm and 11:30pm).
“Claude and Kipp argue over who has the better boss; Carl gives Owen and Ramona a new thermostat” on Less Than Perfect (ABC, 8:30pm). This show is funnier than the average sitcom, though still not a great one. Gotta love the cast, though, ‘cuz they make more of what they’re given than most would. And no, I’m not just talking about Andy Dick.
“Gatorade Sports Science Institute; Harley-Davidson factory; Henry Ford’s assembly line” on John Ratzenberger’s Made in America (Travel, 8:30pm and 11:30pm).
“An elementary-school student takes Jennifer’s daughter hostage” on Line of Fire (ABC, 9pm).
Susanna Thompson (of Once and Again) guest stars on a rerun of Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9pm; airs again on USA). “A female psychiatrist specializing in sex offenders is found beaten in a crack house, but refuses to cooperate with the investgation to find her attacker.”
Rerun of the first episode of the second season of The Shield (FX, 9pm; also on Sunday). In case you don’t want to buy or rent the Season 2 DVD set to catch up with this great series. Vic and his team head to Tijuana to find out who is responsible for poisoned coke. Very intense episode.
Season premiere of The Osbournes (MTV, 9:30pm; will be rerun lots of times).
“Players” episode of Angel (TNT, 10pm). From last season.
Richard Perle on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Cookies Unwrapped (Food Network, 10pm and 2am).
“Fry quests to recover a seven-leaf clover he possessed as a child” in one of the best (and sweetest) episodes of Futurama (Cartoon Network, 10:30pm and 1:30am).
“The Muffin Man” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 10:30pm and 2:30am).
Nick DiPaolo, Jim Norton, Tess, Barry Weintraub on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).
Charlize Theron, Dave Matthews on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Terry Bradshaw, Mia Kirshner, Alison Krauss on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Brendan Fraser, Marg Helgenberger, Ron Isley, Burt Bacharach on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).
Keshia Knight Pulliam, guest co-host Fred Willard on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).
Randy Jackson, Chris Kentis, Yes on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (CBS, check your local listings).
Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman guest star in the “Dumb Bunnies” episode of Karen Sisco (USA, midnight).
Greg Kinnear, Dontrella Willis, the Rapture on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).
Pat Sajak, George Eads (of C.S.I.) on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).
Judge Judy Sheindlin, Bob Guiney on The View (ABC, check your local listings).
Sci-Fi mini-marathon du jour: The Outer Limits (Sci-Fi, 10am - 3pm).
Burt Reynolds, Nick Cannon, Meredith (of The Bachelorette) on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Harvey Levin (of Celebrity Justice) and Gloria Allred (another attorney) discuss the Michael Jackson case on The Sharon Osbourne Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Terry Bradshaw, Gary Valentine, Dr. Gadget on The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Profile of a Pregnancy Follow-up” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Inside Detox” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).
