monday
Picks for Tuesday won’t be online ’til sometime after Noon. By 2pm or so, I hope.
Season premiere of Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings)
Season premiere of Everwood (WB, 8pm)
Three’s Company marathon (Nick, 8pm - 5am).
I want to weep. I spent two hours on picks, from 6am ’til 8am. Great edition, I even wrote up a lengthy “featured pick” thingie about Everwood. Wrote about shows airing during the day, looked up new info on the new talk shows, on and on. One of the best picks ever! And I was pretty much done, just searching for a daily quote when my system crashed. This should be no problem, these days I write the picks in software that’s supposed to back things up every few seconds. But— I’d upgraded that software recently and didn’t realize I had to reset the options to say “save every 5 seconds” and so . . . well, nothing was saved. I lost it all. Argh (that doesn’t even begin to cover it).
Nothing to do but start again, should take less time this time around, but I fear I won’t be as complete and won’t find time to cover as much nor do I have the heart to rewrite that piece about Everwood. Sigh. (Note: today’s a good day to email me something positive about the picks or make a donation or show your support in some way).
Some series (like Becker) begin runs in syndication today, check your local listings for stations. You’ll want to check them to be sure any reruns you regularly watch are still on at the time and channel you’re used to, as local scheduling of syndicated shows may change today for some stations.
TV DVDs due out tomorrow include: Season 1 of Soap and Season 4 of Earth: Final Conflict. DVD sets due out next Tuesday include: Season 1 of Smallville, Season 1 of I Love Lucy, Black Scorpion, and Shogun. [More TV on DVD page]
Don’t forget to check out the 2003-04 Fall Schedule Grid (with premiere dates) and the TV on DVD page.

Today’s Sci-Fi mini-marathon is of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (Sci-Fi, 10am-3pm).
I can’t believe I forgot to mention the premiere of the new tv movie musical Wuthering Heights (MTV, 12:30pm) last night. Rest assured, I’ll try to remember to mention the rest of the airings of this. Music by Jim Steinman (who wrote many of Meatloaf’s hits, plus Total Eclipse of the Heart and others). Erika Christensen stars. John Doe and Katherine Heigl are in it, too. Plus Chris Masterson.

Season premiere of 7th Heaven (WB, 7pm). Part 1 of 2. Expect some drama as according to previews someone may be pregnant and someone may get in a “fatal accident.” Whatever. Matt and Mary will make appearances this season, another character may depart. I’m sure the Camdens will take in some other strays.

Season premiere of Everwood (WB, 8pm). We finally find out how Colin’s surgery went. I think I know what happens, but I’m not saying nothin’. Nope. Marcia Cross joins the show this season as Dr. Abbott’s sister. This was one of my favorite new shows last year (along with Without A Trace and Boomtown) and if I’m honest I’m looking forward to it’s return even more than of the others (perhaps because it’s usually a bit more upbeat). Trust me on this one, give the show a chance if you haven’t or haven’t lately.
