News:

I’ve (finally) updated the 2003-04 Fall Schedule Grid to include premiere dates for all the new and returning series.

Would you believe . . . I visited an emergency room today because I woke up this morning with weird sounds in my left ear? Turned out there was a bug in there. ‘Nuff said. (Ewwwww!) Kevin was helpful and made jokes about how this was all Ricardo Montalban’s way of trying to control me or something. Geek. (This is surely the ickiest reason the tv picks have ever been late). Sorry folks. Trust me, it was worse for me than for you.

Season 2 of NYPD Blue should hit stores today. [More TV on DVD]

I Love The ’70s (VH1, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm). 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973.

Inside TV Land: TV’s Top 40 Theme Songs (TV Land, 7pm).

Rerun of last week’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Bravo, 7pm). The one where they made over a camera operator from the show.

Take a bunch of Edgar Allan Poe impersonators and add a fire and things get kinda interesting on Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm). I’m looking forward to new episodes, aren’t you? Love the reruns too, of course.

Faith and the potentials launch an attack on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (UPN, 7pm). Well, not on Buffy, but on Buffy. Um. You know what I mean.

Bonnie puts together an entire fake show to try and please the bosses wife on Life with Bonnie (ABC, 7:30pm). Teri Garr and Carl Reiner guest star.

Peter Gallagher’s gotta play lawyer for Ryan again and then they search for Ryan’s Mom and see about giving her another chance (you know Ryan’s gotta end up in the O.C., though, right?). And there are other soapy things, too, of course, but the show is better than all that sounds. Yes, I like The O.C. (FOX, 8pm) a lot so far. So if you still haven’t checked it out, you should. If you still haven’t read Lisa’s review of it, you should do that too. This episode will air three times, so if you miss it tonight, you’ll have other chances. Third episode of the series thus far. And yes, you can join it now and still follow what’s going on.

Another airing of Nefertiti Resurrected (Discovery Channel, 8pm and 11pm). Tamara Tunie narrates it.

Whitney returns from the Marines on Smallville (WB, 8pm).

Bjork at the Royal Opera House (Trio, 8pm and 11pm).

Claude’s brother goes on a date with Lydia (Andrea Parker) on Less Than Perfect (ABC, 8:30pm).

The Fab 5 makes over a Port Authority policeman on a new Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (Bravo, 9pm and 11pm).

“A former member of Parliament accuses a top government official of arms dealing” on MI-5 (A&E, 9pm and 1am). Hugh Laurie guest stars again.

Some people really think that maybe they are an animal or should’ve been an animal. It’s explored on Animal Imitators (TLC, 9pm and midnight).

New Nip/Tuck (FX, 9pm, 10:30pm). Jessalyn Gilsig guest stars.

Get used to seeing Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9pm) on Tuesday nights, this is the show’s new timeslot. This is a rerun of the one where they find the body of an 8-year-old beauty queen on a bus.

Sipowicz is taken hostage on NYPD Blue (ABC, 9pm).

The fictional folk of Judging Amy (CBS, 9pm) deal with the offscreen death of Jared, this show was written to deal with the real-life death of Richard Crenna (who played Jared on the show).

Baseball: Atlanta Braves at San Francisco Giants (TBS, 9pm).

Late Night:

Cynthia Nixon on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

The Orlando Jones Show (FX, 10pm).

Rerun of the season finale of The Dead Zone (USA, 10pm).

Robert Schimmel, Joey Kola, Laurie Kilmartin, Keith Robinson on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn (Comedy Central, 10:30pm and 12:30am).

Lucy Liu, a 6-year-old lemonade stand owner, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
