Best Bets:

Ed (NBC, 8pm)
John Doe (FOX, 8pm)
Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit (NBC, 9pm)
The Shield (FX, 9pm, 10pm)

News:

Breaking news could still preempt, delay, or change schedules (especially for the major networks).

The premiere episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, and Monk will be released on DVD in June. The two Law & Order series premieres will be released on June 3rd, the first episode of Monk will be released on June 24th. Each will reportedly have some cool extras. Follow my links to pre-order.

Remember that there are various ways you can support this site: you can make a one-time donation or “subscribe” (donate $5 or some other amount each month), you can shop at amazon.com and other stores via our links, you can buy me something from my wishlist, and/or you can send me email. Oh yeah– and tell your friends about the site if you think they’d like it.

Daytime:

Chris Rock, Aaron Eckhart on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

John Travolta, Deborah Gibson, Bruce Michael Hall, Jessica Morris, Wendy Walsh, Linda Cobb on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Robert Duvall, Luciana Pedraza, Tina Madigan and Joe Machota on The Caroline Rhea Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

James Woods, wrestler Chris Jericho, Darrell Hammond, Geri Halliwell, 8-year-old pianist Mackenzie Melened on The Wayne Brady Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Cheaters” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Getting the Love You Want” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

Flashbacks to 1989 show how the Lone Gunmen met each other and Agent Mulder and a certain Detective John Munch (of Homicide, Law & Order: SVU) in the “Unusual Suspects” episode of The X-Files (Sci-Fi, 3pm). Signy Coleman guest stars.

Sometimes I think The X-Files (TNT, 4pm) should’ve ended with “Requiem.” But without the big cliffhangers, I guess. What I mean is I like the episode, how it revisits Mulder & Scully’s first case and gets all the major players involved in the story. And there are some really nice Mulder/Scully moments.

“Normal Again” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm). Is Buffy really fighting demons? Or is she imagining the whole thing?

Primetime:

NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on CBS.

NBA basketball on ESPN.

“Deaqon shadows a ruthless drug lord on the eve of his late brother’s birthday to avoid the onslaught of painful memories” on Fastlane (FOX, 7pm). Vondie Curtis Hall reprises his role as Deaq’s brother (presumably in flashbacks). (Basketball delays the show ’til 10pm or so in Minneapolis).

Series premiere of Search for the Most Talented Kid in America (NBC, 7pm).

Marty (TCM, 7pm).

Back to back episodes of While You Were Out (TLC, 7pm, 8pm; 10pm, 11pm). Room or yard makeovers done in one day with $1500.

Chris Isaak guest stars on Ed (NBC, 8pm). Note new date and time and that this season will likely end with Carol going after Ed (at least I think that’s where they’re going with things). Only this episode and the next one to go. I really hope the show gets picked up for another season as it’s been good again. If this sounds familiar, it’s ‘cuz NBC didn’t air this episode last week as originally planned– they say it will air tonight for sure, though.

“John navigates the world of cybersex while trying to recover a mysterious briefcase” and probably possibly finds a clue to his past (again) on John Doe (FOX, 8pm). (Delayed by a ballgame in Minneapolis, guess it will air around 11pm).

Series premiere of Tremors: The Series (Sci-Fi, 8pm-10pm; 10pm-midnight). Michael Gross reprises his role from the movie(s).

Daniel Stern stars in the series premiere of Regular Joe (ABC, 8:30pm). “A recent widower helps his family cope with life; the family tries to scrounge extra money for Joanie after she gets admitted to Columbia University.” Judd Hirsch is on hand, too.

“Jimmy has been shoplifting; Lily can’t decide what to wear” on Grounded For Life (WB, 8:30pm).

New episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC, 9pm). I won’t tell you more ‘cuz I figure the NBC commercials already give too much away.

The marathon of season 2 episodes of The Shield continues (FX, 9pm, 10pm). One episode at 9pm, another at 10pm. Two episodes each night ’til the season finale on Tuesday.

“Mr. Monk Goes to the Carnival” episode of Monk (USA, 9pm). Tony Shalhoub stars in this great series created by Andy Breckman.

Late Night:

Saturday Night Live Twenty-Five: The Music (VH1, 10pm- ). Going backwards from 1999.

“The ritualistic murder of a funeral director leads to a field of bodies near a crematorium” on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA, 10pm).

Kelsey Grammer, Chef Michael Tong, B.B. King, Shemekia Copeland on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, after basketball and the news, will be late).

“The Great Regurgitator”, Rachel Griffiths, Jaguares on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Soap (TV Land, 11:30pm).

Chris Rock, Mark Addy, Everclear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Square Pegs (TV Land, midnight).

Citizen Kane (TCM, midnight).

Camp Freddy, guest co-host Slash on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Adrien Brody, Sarah Chalke, the Wondermints on a rerun of The Late Late Show (CBS, will air late if at all).

Julie Bowen, Cuba Gooding Jr., The Streets on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Tomorrow:

Will have picks for Saturday online later tonday or early tomorrow with any luck.
