Best Bets:

New Ed (NBC, 7pm)
Faith returns on a new Angel (WB, 8pm)
Beets on Good Eats (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm)

News:

What self-respecting TV fan wouldn’t have wanted to watch Steven Bochco, Tom Fontana, Dick Wolf, Aaron Sorkin, and J.J. Abrams talk TV drama? I know I wish I could’ve attended the panel on “Creating Drama” at this year’s William S. Paley Festival. Here’s Zap2It’s too brief account of the panel. And their coverage of other panels at the festival (thus far, with more still to come).

If you have a blogroll on your site, be sure to add this site to your Blogroll.

Primetime:

“Ed and Frankie litigate a dispute between friends who promised to marry each other” (in one of those crazy pacts friends sometimes make) on a new Ed (NBC, 7pm). If you haven’t watched in a while, the show has been good again lately.

Back to back to back episodes of Junkyard Wars (TLC, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm; 10pm, 11pm, midnight). “Combat Cars,” “Building Bashers,” and “Ice Warriors.”

Cary Grant is superb in North By Northwest (TCM, 7pm).

“Reed and Archer return to a planet to retrieve a communicator, then are captured and face execution” on a rerun of Enterprise (UPN, 7pm).

Faith returns (need I say more?) on a new episode of Angel (WB, 8pm). This show has been better than Buffy so far this season.

“Beet it” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm).

James Cameron & crew explore the sunken Bismarck on James Cameron’s Expedition: Bismarck (Discovery, 8pm-10pm, 11pm-1am).

“American soldiers speak about fears of war; fire prevention in nightclubs” on 60 Minutes II (CBS, 8pm).

“South Park waits for the meteor shower; Kyle and Ike go camping” and “Scandal impacts church attendance” on South Park (Comedy Central, 8:30pm, 9pm).

Two more fine episodes of Boomtown (Bravo, 9pm, 10pm).

West Side Story (TCM, 9:30pm).

Late Night:

“Flying brains with the power to reduce human intelligence conquer Earth” on another of my favorite episodes of Futurama (Cartoon Network, 10pm).

Adrien Brody on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Kate Hudson, Jack Hanna on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

David Spade, Missy Elliott on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Al Roker, Ana Gasteyer, Demetri Martin on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).
