Best Bets:

Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm)
The Practice (ABC, 8pm)
Everwood (WB, 8pm)
Miracles (ABC, 9pm)

News:

Season 2 of Mad About You will be out on April 22nd.

The first seasons of Cheers and Frasier will be released on DVD on May 20th.

The set that will contain seasons 1 & 2 of Homicide: Life on the Street is due out on May 27th (more info when I have it).

I’ve added some more shows to the TV on DVD page, I also added release dates for sets that aren’t out yet.

This page last updated at: 7:45am

Daytime:

George Hamilton, O-Town, guest co-host Jane Krakowski on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Jeremy Irons on The View (ABC, check your local listings). With Leah Remini as guest co-host.

This week’s Sci-Fi channel marathon is of Quantum Leap (Sci-Fi, 10am-3pm weekdays).

Fran Drescher, Eric Idle, Racheal Ray on The Caroline Rhea Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

How much do I love As The World Turns (CBS, check your local listings)? A whole bunch.

Last Friday, the actual Guiding Light studio was filmed as if it was Springfield’s fictional TV studio in an episode of Guiding Light (CBS, check your local listings) that had more walking & talking scenes than your average episode of The West Wing or Sports Night. Though honestly, I couldn’t care less who is stalking Reva and the Shayne family– I’m loving the Phillip-Olivia-Alan triangle and the mystery surrounding who may or may not be the parents of Gus. John Conboy is sure making all sorts of changes to the show, some may be steps in the right direction– but the jury is still out.

“More Controlling People” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Bowling for Columbine” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).

I’m still addicted to Trading Spaces (TLC, 3pm weekdays).

The Bangles and the Go-Go’s are profiled on Behind The Music (VH1, 4pm, 5pm).

Bell, Book and Candle (TCM, 5pm).

“Family” and “Fool For Love” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm, 6pm). I miss Tara. And I loved getting a look at Spike’s past. Two cool episodes.

Primetime:

It’s tricky writing TV recommendations just after sweeps when most things are in reruns. Sure, every CBS series is a rerun tonight– and yet since I don’t usually watch CBS on Monday nights, everything would be New To Me so possibly of interest. Meanwhile, maybe you don’t ordinarily watch Everwood (WB, 8pm) like I do so maybe you’d be interested in those reruns. A big part of why I’m doing the TV grid is so you can tell at a glance what’s on and what’s a rerun for the major networks (and selected other channels on certain nights). If you notice that a show you usually watch is in reruns, maybe you’ll sample something else. Remember: when all else fails this month, you can watch Oscar-nominated films on Turner Classic Movies.

Robert Preston is The Music Man (TCM, 7pm).

College hoops on ESPN.

Back to back to back episodes of Monster Garage (Discovery, 7pm and 10pm, 8pm and 11pm, 9pm and midnight). The group transforms a stretch limousine into a fire truck, teams construct machines to shake almonds from trees, and they turn a Geo Tracker into a quick-launching hot-air-balloon chase vehicle. Really. It’s like those montage scenes from The A-Team but more fun. Or something.

I don’t know what to say about Married By America (FOX, 7pm-9pm). It’s a reality show, you can tell what it’s about by the title. This is part 1 of 2. I’ve given up on calling these sorts of things warning signs of the apocalypse.

Sci-Fi channel has four episodes of Stargate SG-1 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm).

“Doug gets jealous of Carrie’s gay co-worker and worries about the strength of their marriage” on a rerun of King of Queens (CBS, 7pm).

“Eric and Rabbi Glass (Richard Lewis) spy on the new associate pastor” on a rerun of 7th Heaven (WB, 7pm).

“One of six contestants is fed correct answers, the others must reveal the cheater” on Dirty Rotten Cheater (PAX, 7pm).

“Claire shines as a trial attorney with Lindsay’s support; Bobby seeks vindication for a trial he lost which placed an innocent man in jail for 15 years” on The Practice (ABC, 8pm).

“Dr. Brown and a former colleague operate on Amy’s comatose boyfriend” on a rerun of Everwood (WB, 8pm; rerun on Sunday). Yeah, I like this show. Bummed it’s in reruns.

“Debra is jealous when Ray gives Marie a thoughtful present” on a hilarious rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm). I haven’t watched the show much this year (or last), but I did see this episode and it’s very very funny.

“The cast is tense with the first performance of the Varekai” on Cirque du Soleil: Fire Within (Bravo, 8pm and 11pm).

“Pasta” and “Sandwiches” on Unwrapped (Food Network; 8pm and 11pm, 8:30pm and 11:30pm).

“A mysterious girl appears at several tragedies, leading Paul to believe she might be the cause of them all” on Miracles (ABC, 9pm).

“A dead man is found hanging from a tree” on a rerun of C.S.I. Miami (CBS, 9pm). Can’t say I’ve liked the episodes I’ve seen of this, but when everything’s in reruns I may give it another shot since I like the original C.S.I. so much.

Late Night:

Eric Idle on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Rerun of the 9pm-10pm episode of 24 (FOX, 10pm) from last week.

“The team is called to investigate the case of a missing college freshman” on a rerun of C.S.I. (TNN, 10:05pm) from the second season.

“Detectives investigate the apparent suicide of a woman who jumped from a balcony” on Law & Order: SVU (USA, 10pm).

Kid Scientists, Kurt Russell on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Martin Scorsese, Hootie and the Blowfish on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

“A pornography Web site becomes the key to the investigation of a serial rapist” on Robbery Homicide Division (USA, 11pm).

Ted Danson, Steven R. Schirripa, Beck on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Jeff Goldblum, Molly Sims, Fabolous on Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC, check your local listings).

Liza Minnelli, David Gest, James Marsters on a rerun of The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).

Estella Warren, Soundtrack of Our Lives on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Travel Sick (Comedy Central, 12:30am, 1am, 1:30am, 2am, 2:30am).

Tomorrow:

Bruce Willis, Nivea, guest co-host Jane Krakowski on Live with Regis and Kelly (syndicated, check your local listings).

Queen Latifah, guest co-host Sarah Ferguson on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Debbie Reynolds, Daniel Stern on The Caroline Rhea Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Mixed Signals” (body language) on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

“People Who are Afraid of People” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).
