Best Bets | Daytime | Primetime | Late Night | Tomorrow

Best Bets:

Boston Public (FOX, 7pm)
Crossing Jordan (NBC, 9pm)
Part 1 (of 10) of Taken (Sci-Fi, 8pm, 10pm, midnight)
Andy Richter on The Daily Show (Comedy Central, 10pm)

Daytime:

Spike Lee, Tonya Lewis Lee, Jami Gertz, designers Doug Wilson and Genevieve Gordon (of Trading Spaces) on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

An old sandwich vending machine is replaced with an arcade game in a classic episode of NewsRadio (A&E, 1pm).

Phil Collins, John Leguizamo on The Caroline Rhea Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Get Straight With Your Weight” on Dr. Phil (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Small space makeovers” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). Vern from Trading Spaces is among the guests. This is a rerun of a good episode if you’re into interior design stuff or just like clever storage ideas.

FX begins airing reruns of last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm, 6pm). Parts 1 & 2 of “Bargaining” (in which Buffy returns from the dead) air tonight.

Primetime:

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Cartoon Network, 7pm).

Harper is charged with murder on a new Boston Public (FOX, 7pm). Waitaminute, this isn’t a crossover with The Practice is it? I sure hope Bobby Donnell & company don’t get involved.

It’s like Trading Spaces or While You Were Out, sortof, but with a rock star. Yeah, it’s Rock The House (VH1, 7pm-9:30pm). Bit of a marathon of the series tonight, with episodes that feature Sammy Hagar (7pm), Tommy Lee (7:30pm), Weird Al (8pm), Snoop Dogg (8:30pm), and the Goo Goo Dolls (9pm). I think Weird Al is the only star I’d let decorate a room in my place. Just saying.

“Mr. Monk and the Earthquake” episode of Monk (ABC, 7pm or after the football game).

Rerun of part 1 of this season’s opening two-part episode of 7th Heaven (WB, 7pm). Hijinks ensue. There’s a chimp involved and Mary’s seeing a much older man (played by Grant Goodeve) and did I mention the hijinks?

“Members of three families encounter UFOs and alien abductions” in the new miniseries Taken (Sci-Fi, 8pm-10pm; 10pm-midnight, midnight-2am, 6pm-8pm tomorrow). Part 1 (of 10!) airs tonight. Eric Close, Julie Benz, Joel Gretsch, Michael Moriarty star. It’s a Steven Spielberg production, with a different director helming each installment of this 20-hour miniseries. First episode takes place in 1947, then things move progressively toward the present day.

Tracey Ullman is interviewed on Second City Presents : Tracey Ullman (Bravo, 8pm and 11pm).

“A suspect will get away with murder unless a boy steps forward to testify” on part 1 of a new 2-part Third Watch (NBC, 8pm).

“Food chains” and “Soda pop” episodes of Unwrapped (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm, 8:30pm and 11:30pm).

There’s a fall thaw celebration. Ephram’s feelings grow for whassername. Dr. Brown is trying too hard to be a doctor and not paying enough attention to his family. Yup, it’s an early episode of Everwood (WB, 8pm). Actually the second episode. I’ve seen it before, but if you’re new to the series and missed this one, it might be worth a look.

Ray writes a sample eulogy for Frank and then, you know, Frank finds out about it on a rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm).

“A Hollywood starlet’s body is found in the back of a smashed truck on a country road” and it’s up to Jordan and Woody (Jerry O’Connell) to investigate, for some reason. On a new Crossing Jordan (NBC, 9pm). Commercials lead us to believe that “something” may “happen” between Jordan and Woody (to which some of us say “about time”).

Rerun of the first episode of C.S.I. Miami (CBS, 9pm).

Rerun of New York Friars Club Roast : Chevy Chase (Comedy Central, 9pm). Eh. There were some funny bits, but I’m not sure the funny stuff outweighed the boring predictable stuff.

Late Night:

Fastlane (MTV, 10pm).

Noon-1pm episode of 24 (FX, 10pm).

Rerun of a first season episode of C.S.I. (TNN, 10:05pm).

Debra Messing, Pink on a rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm). Dave’s in reruns all this week.

Peter Jennings, Christina Aguilera on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Pierce Brosnan, Paige Davis (of Trading Spaces) on The Caroline Rhea Show (ABC Family, 11pm).

Jeff Daniels, Raven Goodwin, Filter on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm). Conan’s in reruns all week.
