Best Bets | Daytime | Primetime | Late Night

Best Bets:

Premiere of The Rerun Show (NBC, 8:30pm)
Mike Myers, Bruce Springsteen on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm)
Samuel L. Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm)
Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight)

Daytime:

Baseball: San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs (WGN, 1pm).

Pilot episode of Ally McBeal (FX, 1pm). Make fun of the show all you want, it certainly had some brilliant moments during it’s first couple of seasons.

Cher, Lauren Graham (of Gilmore Girls) on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“What Would You Dare to Live Without?” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). People give up things they thought they couldn’t live without, for seven days.

The excellent “all things” episode of The X-Files (FX, 5pm) was written and directed by Gillian Anderson. Proving, once again, that Anderson and Duchovny know their characters (and show) well.

Primetime:

Baseball: Brewers at Braves (TBS, 6:30pm).

Joan Crawford: The Ultimate Movie Star (TCM, 7pm).

Big Brother (CBS, 7pm).

“Carla accuses J.D. of avoiding a terminally ill patient ” on Scrubs (NBC, 7:30pm).

The team investigates the death of a high school bully on C.S.I. (CBS, 8pm).

Series premiere of The Rerun Show (NBC, 8:30pm). An ensemble cast reenacts scenes from old sitcoms (like Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life)

The Dead Zone (USA, 9pm).

Mel Gibson on Revealed With Jules Asner (E!, 9pm)..

Late Night:

Rerun of Monk (USA, 10pm).

Mike Myers on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Mike Myers, Bruce Springsteen on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Samuel L. Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Charlie Sheen, Sarah Silverman, Christy McWilson on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Gloria Reuben guest stars in “Dead End,” the second part of a three or four part arc on Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight) involving the shooting of three detectives.

Asia Argento, Howie Day on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).

John Leguizamo, Unwritten Law on a rerun of Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

Enjoy these picks? Tell me why (or just say “hi”) and/or make a donation (if you haven’t done such things already or in a while). I’m not paid to put together these picks,
right now I’m unemployed altogether, so every little bit of money (or encouragement) helps. Thanks!
