Bolander (Ned Beatty), Felton (Daniel Baldwin), and Howard (Melissa Leo) are shot in “The City That Bleeds” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, 3pm). Begins an excellent four-part episode, more or less. Events of this episode effect the show for years.

If they do things right, NBC’s 75th Anniversary Special (NBC, 7pm-10pm) should be amazing. Lots of former stars of NBC shows will be on hand, lord knows there’s plenty of stuff in their archives. I hope it’s truly Must See TV.

There’s a marathon on the Sci-Fi channel of their fun, cool original series The Chronicle (Sci-Fi, 6am-6pm Monday). I recommend setting your VCR (or Tivo). Jon Polito, Chad Willett, Rena Sofer, Curtis Armstrong, Reno Wilson star in this quirky show about a tabloid whose stories seem far-fetched but are based in fact. Think Men in Black, kinda.
