Buffy reruns start over (FX, 6pm)
New episode of Leap of Faith (NBC, 7:30pm)
Shatner on Late Night with Conan (NBC, 11:35pm)
CBS soaps are preempted today because of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Hoops, baby.
He’s not a soul man, he’s a “soul hunter”. Who? Well, some guy is. On Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 4pm, letterboxed). Martin Sheen played a soul hunter in one of the Babylon 5 movies. This is the kind of information that is taking up valuable real estate inside my head.
Emeril makes deviled eggs on Essence of Emeril (Food Network, 4pm).
Frank Sinatra guest stars on Magnum, P.I. (A&E, 4pm).
Kelly Ripa, Andrea Martin on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Matt Damon helped someone’s dream come true with Project Greenlight (and he talks about it on the show) and other “Dreams Come True” on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).
Remember when Mr. Howell adopted Gilligan? Does it frighten you that I do? Gilligan’s Island
“The Gift” is the final episode of last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm). It’s followed by the first ever episode of Buffy which is called “Welcome to the Hellmouth” (FX, 6pm). Good time to start watching Buffy if you’re new to the show or need a refresher course on the early episodes. I’m one of those people who always rolled her eyes when people raved about the show and who tried to watch it a few times and never understood the big deal. Now I’m a fan.
“Oscar Studies History” today on TCM, with Oscar-nominated films with a historical bent: Cleopatra (TCM, 5pm; the 1934 one with Claudette Colbert), Spartacus (TCM, 7pm); The Alamo (TCM, 10:30pm); Plymouth Adventure (TCM, 2am); Rasputin and the Empress (TCM, 4am).
“Taste of Ireland” on Emeril Live (Food Network, 7pm and 10pm).
First two episodes of My Guide To Becoming A Rock Star (WB, 7pm, 7:30pm).
Couple more reruns of Family Guy (FOX, 7pm, 7:30pm).
Marilyn Monroe on Biography (A&E, 7pm and 11pm).
John Wayne in The Searchers (AMC, 7pm).
The NBC lineup is all reruns, save for a new episode of Leap Of Faith (NBC, 7:30pm). Faith has to fire a “beloved spokesman.” Oh-oh. And yeah, I like this show. It’s a little strange to actually like a show in the post-Friends timeslot after all this time.
Diane Sawyer tackles the issues of foster care and gay adoptions, with a focus on the law in Florida and with interviews with Rosie O’Donnell on a special two-hour Primetime Thursday (ABC, 8pm-10pm).
There’s a wedding on a new episode of Charmed (WB, 8pm).
The Corrs: Live in Dublin (VH1, 8pm).
Horatio Hornblower: The Duchess and the Devil (A&E, 8pm-10pm; midnight-2am).
Well, I guess it’s sortof like The Shining . . . it’s “The Honking” episode of Futurama (FOX, 8:30pm).
Bill O’Reilly on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Andy Richter, Jake Johannsen on a cool rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman which will air quite late (CBS, after NCAA basketball and your local news).
Tom Green, Sea World animals, Jewel on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
When all else fails, you can watch The Rockford Files (TV Land, 11pm).
Wesley Snipes, William Shatner, Owen O’Neill on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).
Sometimes I forget how great “The Damage Done” episode is, largely because I eventually got so sick of the Mahoney storyline. But when Luther Mahoney (Erik Todd Dellums) first showed up, it was compelling stuff and gave Reed Diamond a chance to show his acting chops in a good way on Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight). This episode features music by Dawn Penn, Garbage, and Heather Nova.
The Late Late Show is preempted ‘cuz of basketball.
Milla Jovovich, Mystikal on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).
