Best Bets | Daytime | Primetime | Late Night

Best Bets:

“The Body” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm)
Law & Order: SVU (NBC, 9pm)
Once and Again (Lifetime, 10pm)
Merv Griffin on The Late Show (CBS, 10:35pm)

Daytime:

Have a box of tissues handy, and be prepared to call your parents or other living loved ones, ‘cuz FX is airing “The Body” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm). It’s a great episode. Many people called it great after they saw it the first time and then also declared that they didn’t ever need to see it again. Yeah, it’s that intense. (I think I probably will try to watch it tonight, though. See how the episode holds up).

Characters continue their attempts to deal with the events of “The Body” on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 6pm). Episode is “Forever.”

Primetime:

This month, when you can’t find anything to watch, watch Turner Classic Movies. It’s all Oscar-nominated movies, all the time.

History vs. Hollywood (History Channel, 7pm and 11pm) looks at the new film We Were Soldiers.

AMC airs Raiders of the Lost Ark (AMC, 7pm) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (AMC, 9:05pm).

Paul Winfield guest stars in the “Darmok” episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNN, 7pm). When the walls fell. It’s a good episode, followed by two more good ones (”Conspiracy” at 8pm and “Family” at 9pm).

“Vampires use the Elvis Impersonator Convention to feed on unsuspecting fans” on The Chronicle (Sci-Fi, 8pm and 11pm). Episode is titled “The King is Undead” (of course).

Rerun of the second ever episode of Alias (ABC Family Channel, 8pm). The one that aired after the pilot.

New York Firefighters: The Brotherhood of September 11 (Discovery Channel, 8pm-9pm; midnight-1am).

A cellist is attacked on a new Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit (NBC, 9pm). Michael Nader (who some know best for playing Dimitri on All My Children) guest stars.

Battle Red Snapper on Iron Chef (Food Network, 9pm).

Conversations From the Edge With Carrie Fisher: Courtney Love (Oxygen, 9pm).

If you missed the new episode of Once and Again (Lifetime, 10pm) that aired on ABC on Monday, you can catch that episode tonight on Lifetime. Don’t give up on this great show.

Late Night:

Merv Griffin on an excellent rerun of The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Will Smith, Rachel Griffiths, Ben Harper on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Marisa Tomei, Sarah Paulson (of the new NBC series Leap of Faith), Brandy on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Charlie Rose (PBS, check your local listings) talks to the filmmakers behind the 9/11 documentary that airs on Sunday night.

Laura Prepon, Tenacious D on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).

Bruce Campbell guest stars in part 2 of an episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight) called “Justice.”
