That’s Entertainment! (TCM, 7pm) is a whole bunch of fun, if you aren’t familiar with it, it features clips from MGM musicals (circa 1928-1958). It’s great and it’s followed by That’s Entertainment, Part 2 (TCM, 9:30pm) which features still more cool clips from musicals (or films with musical numbers in ‘em). It’s a great way to see some of the best scenes from movie musicals all in one place, I always end up with a list of films I want to watch. What? Those aren’t enough for you? Then catch That’s Entertainment! III (TCM, midnight), too. Better yet, tape ‘em all so you have something cheery for a rainy day. And then there’s That’s Dancing! (TCM, 2am) which isn’t as cool, but is in the same vein.

My Mom wants to watch Saturday night’s block of episodes of Knots Landing (Soap Network, 11:30pm-4:30am) just to see Hunt Block’s character get killed. Very bloodthirsty of her, but I guess she hasn’t been fond of some of the things his other characters have done on daytime soaps.

John de Lancie guest stars on Fired Up (USA, 5am). With regulars Sharon Lawrence, Leah Remini, and Mark Feuerstein. If that’s any help and you’re having a hard time placing this short-lived mediocre sitcom. Followed by another short-lived (but not as mediocre) sitcom called Almost Perfect (USA, 5:30am).
Pauly Shore guest stars on Fantasy Island (Sci-Fi, 8am).
Heather (Heather Matarazzo) is struck by lightning in the “A Girl’s Life” episode of one of my favorite series: Now and Again (Sci-Fi, 9am). Eric Close, Dennis Haysbert (who now plays Senator Palmer on 24), Margaret Colin, and Gerrit Graham star.
The third and final installment of the excellent special series Inside TV Land: African Americans on Television (TV Land, 10am) focuses on comedies.
