Daytime | Primetime | Late Night

Best Bets:

As The World Turns (CBS Daytime, check your local listings)
Buffy reruns (FX, 5pm and 6pm)
A Charlie Brown Valentine (ABC, 7pm) maybe
Winter Olympics (NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, et al)
The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm)

Daytime:

Vera Wang, Connie Chung, Maury Povich on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

CBS airs a very special Valentine’s Day episode of As The World Turns (CBS, check your local listings) today. What’s so special about it? The episode is supposed to feature the romantic fantasies of a bunch of the characters. There’s a reason this show won the Best Daytime Drama Emmy this past year . . . I know I’ll be recording today’s episode.

Britney Spears, Dylan McDermott, Train on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Would you marry your spouse again?” is the topic on today’s Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings). Expect some surprises and prizes for the featured couples.

Neil Gaiman wrote “The Day of the Dead” episode of Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 4pm, letterboxed). Penn & Teller guest star in it.

Still-heartbroken Willow makes a wish that goes awry in the “Something Blue” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm). It’s followed by an episode that should’ve aired back when FX was airing the second season of the show– “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered” (FX, 6pm). I guess they thought it’d be cool to air this episode on Valentine’s Day, since it does involve a love spell (that, of course, goes awry). So don’t be too freaked that the gang is suddenly back in high school and Cordelia and Oz are still around and Angel is all evil and I think Spike and Dru are lurking about and stuff.

Primetime:

Winter Olympics (NBC, 7pm). Including coverage of the men’s figure skating long program.

A Charlie Brown Valentine (ABC, 7pm) is a brand new Peanuts animated special. Charlie Brown tries to work up the nerve to ask a girl to a dance. Followed by Winnie the Pooh, A Valentine For You (ABC, 7:30pm).

New episode of Family Guy (FOX, 7pm), followed by a rerun of Family Guy (FOX, 7:30pm). So can anyone confirm that this show really is cancelled?

“Romance Miracles” are featured on It’s A Miracle (PAX, 7pm). Whatever.

If you’re sick of the lovefests, I s’pose you could watch a profile of Jack the Ripper on Biography (A&E, 7pm and 11pm).

America’s Funniest Home Videos: Stupid Cupid (ABC, 8pm). Hosted by D.L. Hughley. From back when his show was still on ABC. Heh.

Late Night:

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Calista Flockhart, Incubus on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Denzel Washington, skier Bode Miller, Sheryl Crow on The Olympic Tonight Show (NBC, 11:05pm).

Kevin Sorbo (formerly TV’s Hercules, now TV’s Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda’s Captain Dylan Hunt) on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings). Have I mentioned that Kevin Sorbo and I attended the same church when we were kids? Well, I was a kid and he was a teenager.

Alyson Hannigan (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jamie Foxx on Politically Incorrect (ABC, check your local listings).

David Morse (of St. Elsewhere fame) guest stars as Tim’s cousin on Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight).
