Friends will return for a ninth season (which will be their last).
Academy Award nominations were announced this morning.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (UPN, 7pm)
Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm)
Undeclared (FOX, 7:30pm)
Westminster Dog Show (USA, 7pm; tomorrow at 10am)
The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm)
Ha! I love this description from the TV listings: “Remington and Laura have a complicated case.” Um, so what else is new? On Remington Steele (PAX, 4pm).
Janet Jackson, Scott Bakula on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Bad mothers vs. Dr. Phil on Oprah (syndicated, check your local listings).
“Beer Bad” and “Wild at Heart” episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm, 6pm).
Winter Olympics (NBC, 7pm; rebroadcast late after The Olympic Tonight Show). Last night I tivo-ed the late showing of the Olympic coverage and then today I fast forwarded thru large chunks of it and watched the bits I wanted to see. Worked well.
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show: Closing Night (USA, 7pm; reruns at 10am tomorrow morning). Sporting, Hound, Herding group, followed by Best In Show.
TCM airs a lot of short films again tonight (they will every Tuesday this month).
It’s Buffy’s birthday and you know what that means: misery, probably. On Buffy the Vampire Slayer (UPN, 7pm). I thought last week’s Buffy was great, after some not-so-great episodes.
Rory’s Dad comes to Stars Hollow for a visit and he brings his girlfriend (Madchen Amick) on Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm).
Luke Wilson guest stars again on That ’70s Show (FOX, 7pm).
Lizzie and Steven decide to have a wild night out before committing to each other on Undeclared (FOX, 7:30pm).
Jack corners one of Gaines colleagues and tries to get more information on a new 24 (FOX, 8pm; reruns on FX on Sunday and Monday).
A classmate absorbs Clark’s powers and misuses them (of course) on Smallville (WB, 8pm).
Max must use his powers to help his friends and Liz leaves Roswell (UPN, 8pm). (Or does she?)
“The Art of Darkness” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm) will make you crave chocolate. Even if you didn’t think you liked chocolate.
A “storm of the century” hits 100 Centre Street (A&E, 9pm and 1am; reruns later in the week).
Reed Diamond (who played Mike Kellerman on Homicide) guest stars on a rerun of Judging Amy (CBS, 9pm). I’m pretty sure this is the one where Reed is in a swimsuit or naked a lot. And I know some people wanted to know when the episode aired again. Ahem.
John Stossel on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Denis Leary, India.Arie on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Kevin Costner, US women’s bobsled team, Macy Gray on The Olympic Tonight Show (NBC, 11:05pm).
Patrick Swayze on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).
Caroline Rhea, Kevin Sorbo on Politically Incorrect (ABC, check your local listings).
The wrong man may be put to death for a murder if the detectives don’t find out the truth fast on the “In Search of Crimes Past” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight). Jerry Stiller, Barnard Hughes guest star. In an episode written by Jane Smiley.
