So how amazing was last Friday’s episode of Once and Again? Wow. A great episode. From a show that’s put together a lot of great episodes and which has turned into truly one of the best dramas on the air. Having it’s best season yet, I think.

Which is why it’s a crying shame that it sounds, according to reliable sources, like it’s very possible the show will be cancelled, possibly even before the end of this season. Current word is the order has been cut back from 22 episodes to 17, some reports say that if the show improves in the ratings, it’s possible they’ll get to do 23 episodes this season after all. Of course none of this guarantees the show a spot on the schedule for next season. I’ve already written a letter to ABC telling them how much I love the show. Here’s a page with addresses and information about what you can do to show your support for this great series.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Today Show (NBC, 7am-10am).

Marisa Tomei, makeovers, how to survive a layoff on The View (ABC, check your local listings).

Angie Harmon, Billy Campbell (of Once and Again) on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

“Conflicts of Interest” episode of Babylon 5 (Sci-FI, 4pm, letterboxed).

The creepy early episode of The X-Files (FX, 4pm and midnight) known as “Eve.”

Jason Behr (now of Roswell fame) guest stars in the “Lie to Me” episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (FX, 5pm). That last scene between Giles and Buffy is one of my favorites. Followed by the episode “The Dark Age” (FX, 6pm) which I hadn’t realized occurred so soon after “Halloween” (which just aired last Friday). Time sure flies when you see two episodes daily!

Daria: Is It Fall Yet? (MTV, 5:30pm-7pm).

A student takes photographs of a child naked (as part of an art project) and this causes all manner of controversy on Boston Public (FOX, 7pm). And the school competes to try and win a grant.

Two episodes of Daria (MTV, 7pm and 7:30pm).

Oh-oh. The family is stranded together during a snow storm on Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm).

Cordelia’s visions are a problem again on a new episode of Angel (WB, 8pm).

Jon Bon Jovi begins a guest stint on Ally McBeal (FOX, 8pm). And Ally decides to renovate an old house.

“Fruity snacks” on Unwrapped (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm).

Babylon 5: In The Beginning (Sci-Fi, 8pm-10pm) is a prequel to the series. Worth seeing if you’re a fan. Best seen, IMHO, after you’ve seen the series.

A hockey star’s wife and children are found murdered on Crossing Jordan (NBC, 9pm). This show has been renewed for a second season and I’m pleased because it’s grown on me. Not a great show, but an entertaining one.

Another airing of the 6am-7am episode of 24 (FX, 9pm). Last chance to see this episode before a new one airs on FOX.

Lesley Stahl on The Daily Show (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).

Yay! A whole lot of Daria (MTV, 10:30pm-2:30am).

Josh Hartnett, Survivor winner, Remy Zero on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Denis Leary, Jennifer Garner (of Alias), Usher on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Gwyneth Paltrow, Zach Braff (of Scrubs), Regena Tomashauer on a rerun of Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm). Conan got married this past Saturday, congratulations to the happy couple!

Vicki Lewis (of NewsRadio, Three Sisters) on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).

Suge Night on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC, check your local listings).

“A Many Splendored Thing” is another of my favorite episodes of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight). Julianna Marguilles guest stars.
