Spock’s parents visit the Enterprise in the “Journey to Babel” episode of Star Trek (Sci-Fi, 5pm).
Wasn’t it neat how yesterday’s FX reruns led right up to the UPN rerun of “The Body”? Today’s reruns pick up right after that, with Buffy and the gang still dealing with Joyce’s death in “Forever” (FX, 5pm). And then in “Intervention.” All on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
“Z’ha’dum” is probably my favorite episode of Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, letterboxed). It’s great, I’ve raved about it before.
Pacey throws a dinner party on Dawson’s Creek (WB, 7pm).
A Celebration of Christmas With Jose Carreras, Natalie Cole and Placido Domingo (Bravo, 7pm-9pm, 10pm-midnight). A concert recorded in Vienna.
Rerun of this season’s first episode of Ed (NBC, 7pm). Ed defends Warren in court, Bonnie Hayne stirs up trouble for Ed and Carol.
The Marx Brothers in A Day at the Races (TCM, 7pm). Followed by Room Service (TCM, 8:30pm); At The Races (TCM, 10:30pm); and My Little Chickadee (TCM, midnight). Talk about comedy classics.
New holiday episodes of Grounded For Life (FOX, 7:30pm), The Bernie Mac Show (FOX, 8pm), and Titus (FOX, 8:30pm).
A snowstorm strands Felicity (WB, 8pm) in the show’s “winter finale.” It returns later in the year.
Premiere of the new TV movie Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story (VH1, 8pm and 10pm).
Rerun of last year’s Christmas episode of The West Wing (NBC, 8pm). It’s “Noel,” wherein Josh is forced to confront his demons (and shoot for an Emmy!).
“Torpedo” episode of Junkyard Wars (TLC, 8pm and 11pm).
The director of a dilapidated foster home must convince the new owners to continue funding it. It’s a new holiday movie called The Sons of Mistletoe (CBS, 8pm). Roma Downey and Doris Roberts star.
“Family roasts” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 8pm).
A man accused of murder defends himself in court on a rerun of Law & Order (NBC, 9pm) from last season.
It’s a holiday tradition: Darlene Love sings “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on The Late Show with David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm). It is, after all, the only good rock and roll Christmas song (according to Dave and I think he may be right).
Hugh Jackman, Dr. Ruth on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).
Tenacious D on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings).
Most die-hard fans of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, midnight) gave up on the show during it’s final season. Oh alright, we kept watching, but the show was a pale shadow of it’s former self. Then along came “Identity Crisis,” which proved that an episode during that last season could still be Great, like the glory days of the series. That good writing could make all the difference, I don’t even mind Jon Seda as Falsone in this one.
Another holiday episode of Chicago Hope (Lifetime, midnight). I think this one feature Mark Harmon, if I recall correctly.
