Neil Patrick Harris guest stars as a new bowling alley lawyer who styles himself after Ed (NBC, 7pm). He’s even got a staff that resemble’s Ed’s. Oooh ahh. Well, it makes for funny commercials. Doogie Houser, M.D. as Ed! No way can he perfect the Ed smirk, tho.
Francis emancipates himself from his parents on Malcolm in the Middle (FOX, 7pm).
The crewmembers disguise themselves as aliens and explore a new world on Enterprise (UPN, 7pm).
Dawson blames Joey for his dad’s death on Dawson’s Creek (WB, 7pm).
Series premiere of The Bernie Mac Show (FOX, 7:30pm), it’s followed by another episode of the series at 8pm. It’s a sitcom. About a comedian and his wife who suddenly find themselves raising his sister’s three children.
The military loses contact with one of its submarines on The West Wing (NBC, 8pm).
“Ham I Am” episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 8pm and 11pm).
“Building Bashers” episode of Junkyard Wars (TLC, 8pm and 11pm). They build demolition vehicles.

Lt. Van Buren learns that someone may have tampered with the evidence she used to convict a man years ago on Law & Order (NBC, 9pm). Looks like a good episode for S. Epatha Merkerson.
