The “F.N.G.” in this episode title for China Beach (History Channel, Noon and 6pm) stands for “Fairly New Guys”. The men and women of China Beach remember (and flash back) to their first days at China Beach.

Neil Gaiman wrote “The Day of the Dead” episode of Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, letterboxed). Penn and Teller guest star. It’s one of the better episodes of season 5.

Two wonderful reruns of Gilmore Girls (WB, 7pm and 8pm) air tonight. The episodes are “That Damn Donna Reed” and “Christopher Returns.”

Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn in Charade (AMC, 7pm; 1am).

Michael Wiseman (Eric Close) manages to get closer to his family and to his friend Roger (Gerrit Graham) while working to stop the Egg Man in the “On The Town” episode of Now and Again (Sci-Fi, 8pm). It continues from where the pilot episode left off.

Part 2 (of 2) of Next: The Future Just Happened (A&E, 8pm-10pm; midnight-2am). From writer Michael Lewis. It looks at the strengths and limitations of the internet, among other things.

Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel (AMC, 9pm and midnight) is a new portrait of a wonderful actress.

In my excitement re Now and Again reruns beginning on the Sci-Fi channel, I neglected to mention that Earth: Final Conflict (Sci-Fi, 9pm) will be airing Monday – Thursdays at 9pm. I’ve not seen much of the show, I know some people who find it pretty abyssmal and others who find it somewhat diverting. But I figured I should let you all know it’s on in case you hadn’t noticed.

David Morse guest stars on Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, 10pm).

Sean Hayes and Brian Wilson on a rerun of The Late Show w/ David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Caroline Rhea, Depeche Mode on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Goran Visnjic on Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).

Pam Grier and Adam Goldberg on The Late Late Show w/ Craig Kilborn (CBS, check your local listings).
