tuesday
David Duchovny (why won’t he . . . well, you know) on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).
Part 1 of the pilot movie for China Beach (History Channel, 1pm and 6pm). Dana Delaney, Chloe Webb, Nan Woods, Robert Picardo, Brian Wimmer, et al star. It’s great stuff (see yesterday’s picks). There are far worse things you could do than watch this series this summer.
“Interludes and Examinations” is an intense episode of Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, letterboxed) and one of my favorites.
Because Law & Order reruns aren’t on enough already (A&E, weekdays at Noon, 6pm, 10pm, 2am), they’ll begin airing on TNT on Tuesday nights at 7pm. TNT will air episodes from recent seasons of the show (tonight’s is the one with guest star Julia Roberts). A&E is airing an additional episode of Law & Order tonight at 7pm and 11pm (to compete with TNT’s rerun?)
Ingrid Bergman, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Henreid, Peter Lorre, and Claude Rains star in Casablanca (TCM, 7pm). It’s a classic with good reason: it’s a great, great movie.
Red and Kitty try to have a romantic weekend, but they have some noisy neighbors at the motel on That ’70s Show (FOX, 7pm). Can you guess the identity of the neighbors? I bet you can.
Alas, no Buffy tonight, but Sarah Michelle Gellar is in I Know What You Did Last Summer (WB, 7pm).
Can’t get enough Frasier? Fine, then. NBC is airing three episodes tonight (NBC, 7pm, 8pm and 8:30pm). The one at 8pm is probably the best bet, it’s a rerun of Frasier’s take on the movie Sliding Doors. I heard it was quite clever. The 8:30pm rerun is of the one where Victor Garber plays butler for the Cranes.
Series premiere of Kristin (NBC, 7:30pm). Tony-award-winner Kristin Chenoweth stars as an Oklahoman gal who moves to New York City to try and make it as an actress. She ends up working as a personal assistant to a businessman played by Jon Tenney. The reviews are bad and you can’t expect much from something new that’s only now airing in June.
Robert Picardo Alert!
Robert Picardo guest stars on 7 Days (UPN, 8pm).
Kevin Pollak guest stars on Ed (NBC, 9pm). It’s a cool episode. Featuring The Best Bacon Ever. And Henry David Thoreau’s Walden.
NYPD Blue (ABC, 9pm). In case you haven’t heard, Rick Schroder has announced he’s leaving the series to spend more time with his family.
New episode of Son of the Beach (FX, 9pm) called “It’s a nude, nude, nude, nude world.” Featuring the “nude olympics” and guest star Todd Bridges.
Richard Belzer on The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm and midnight).
Part 2 of the “Kellerman, P.I.” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, 10pm).
Rerun of the season premiere of Sex and the City (HBO, 10pm-11pm).
David Duchovny on The Late Show w/ David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm). Two funny Davids = comedy gold.
Hugh Jackman, Blues Traveler on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).
Parts 1-3 (of 6) of Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City (Showtime, 11pm-1:30am).
Rerun of the pilot episode of Six Feet Under (HBO, 11pm-midnight). From Alan Ball, screenwriter of American Beauty.
Dave Chappelle, Molly Sims, Weezer on Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:35pm).
Minnesota’s own Josh Hartnett meets Craig Kilborn (Minnesotan’s don’t wanna claim him) on The Late Late Show (CBS, check your local listings). Buddy Guy’s also scheduled to appear on the show.
Mulder and Scully meet Frank Black in the “Millennium” episode of The X-Files (FX, 11pm). Mulder and Scully also smooch on New Year’s at midnight (awwwww).
“The Head Coach, Dinner, and the Morning Mail” episode of Sports Night (Comedy Central, 1:30pm, 12:30am).
