Featured pick:

It’s all about James Marsters tonight, as far as I’m concerned.

In a just universe, James Marsters would get nominated for a best supporting actor Emmy for his portrayal of Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (WB, 7pm); of course in a just universe other folks from Buffy would be nominated for awards, too. On tonight’s Buffy, it sounds like Spike may ‘fess up about his feelings for the Slayer. I won’t say more about the plot for fear of giving things away. Those in the know say it’s an episode that’s funny, romantic, sad, and scary at times. You know, like most of the best Buffy episodes. And if you aren’t watching Buffy, it’s well-past time you checked it out.

Doubt Marsters acting ability (and range)? Catch his guest appearance on Millennium (FX, midnight) tonight while you’re at it. Where he plays an American soldier who kidnaps Peter Watts’ daughter. (Be warned: some scenes are pretty intense). Art Bell appears as himself. And Brendan Fehr (of Roswell) has a bit part in the opening sequence.

More picks:

Bill Cosby, Ashton Kutcher (of That ’70s Show), the Naked Chef on The Rosie O’Donnell Show (syndicated, check your local listings).

Garibaldi confronts Lochley about her past and more is learned about how Rangers are trained on Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, letterboxed). It’s followed by an airing of the Babylon 5 movie Thirdspace (Sci-Fi, 7pm, letterboxed) which features guest star Shari Belafonte-Harper.

Like heist or caper movies? You’ll want to tune in TCM tonight as they air a bunch of great ones: The Killing (TCM, 7pm); Topkapi (TCM, 8:30pm, letterboxed);
Ocean’s Eleven (TCM, 11pm, letterboxed); The Great Train Robbery (TCM, 1:15am, letterboxed); and High Sierra (TCM, 3:15am).

Conclusion of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (USA, 7pm; rerun tomorrow morning at 11am).

Donna’s panties are revealed for all to see on That ’70s Show (FOX, 7pm).

Dick tries to buy Gordon Lightfoot (!) tickets for Mary on Third Rock from the Sun (NBC, 7pm) and I hope “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzerald” is mentioned repeatedly in the episode. (Did you know that you can sing any song/words to the tune of “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzerald”? Just F.Y.I. Not that I ever spent an entire day– my birthday no less– in my hazy past doing that, long long ago).

Angel (WB, 8pm) has become separated from Cordy, Wesley, and Gunn; but tonight they’re all working the same case (whether they realize it or not is unclear in the previews). There’s something bad up with the police in L.A.

“A lost pager leads a band of genetically altered soldiers to Max and Original Cindy” on Dark Angel (FOX, 8pm) which would have to be really really really good to be better than Angel.

Conclusion of the two-part Dharma & Greg (ABC, 8pm) wherein Dharma is tempted by a professor played by TV’s Hercules Kevin Sorbo (who, I’m obligated to mention, is from my hometown– Mound, Minnesota).

Frasier (NBC, 8pm) is on the upswing of late, tonight’s episode is their take on Sliding Doors, more or less. With Frasier seeing two different paths his life might take based on merely what shirt he wore . . .

Take a look at the Bon Jovi Crush Tour (Fox Family, 8pm) if you don’t fear ’80s flashbacks as Bon Jovi plays stuff from their new album and some old favorites.

Detectives investigate the murder of a high school girl on NYPD Blue (ABC, 9pm).

Judge Amy comes clean with Gregory Harrison. And the birth mother of Amy’s brother’s adopted child returns (yet again) on Judging Amy (CBS, 9pm).

Gee is passed over for a promotion in “The Old and the Dead” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, 10pm). Bolander and Kay return to work.

Thomas Cavanagh (of Ed), stupid pet tricks on The Late Show w/ David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).

Jennifer Aniston plus Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera perform together on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm).

Bob Costas, Jessica Alba (of Dark Angel) on Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien (NBC, check your local listings).
