“A View from the Gallery” shows events at Babylon 5 (Sci-Fi, 6pm, letterboxed) through the eyes of two ordinary crewman.
Could there be any more good or potentially good stuff on Monday night? Well, a couple of shows are preempted, but then there are special events (like the dog show, for instance) that make up for their absence.
Yes, it’s time once again for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (USA, 7pm). I’m sorry, but I can’t help but watch dog shows if and when I stumble on them.
Ellenor and Jimmy (and maybe others?) from The Practice cross over to Boston Public (FOX, 7pm) tonight, continuing from where that storyline left off on The Practice last night. I’ve gotta admit, it’s fun seeing Camryn Manheim and Chi McBride act together.
“Sub-Aqua” episode of Junkyard Wars (TLC, 7pm, 10pm).
Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds, Shirley MacLaine, and Joan Collins star in These Old Broads (ABC, 7pm). Written by Carrie Fisher. Could be worth watching just to see Reynolds and Taylor on screen together (given their history, never thought I’d see that). With Peter Graves, Pat Harrington, Jonathan Silverman, and Gene Barry.
Al-a-palooza! Okay, not quite. But VH1 reruns Weird Al Live! (VH1, 7pm) and the Weird Al episode of Behind The Music (VH1, 8pm).
There’s a new valentine’s day episode of 7th Heaven.
New episodes of First Wave (Sci-Fi, 7pm, midnight) and Invisible Man (Sci-Fi, 8pm, 11pm).
Taye Diggs joins the cast of Ally McBeal (FOX, 8pm). Barry Manilow and Anne Heche guest star. And someone proposes to someone on the show, if previews are to be believed.
Ray and Debra’s Valentine’s Day date is (what else?) less than romantic on Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS, 8pm).
Yvonne convinces Daryl to abstain from sex until Valentine’s Day on The Hughleys (UPN, 8pm). (I wonder how she managed that?)
Samuel L. Jackson hosts The ESPY Awards (ESPN, 8pm, 10:30pm).
Judge Sims is held hostage on 100 Centre Street (A&E, 8pm, midnight, will also air again later in the week).
Roswell is preempted this week so the WB can air a special called Kiss The Bride: The Ultimate Valentine (WB, 8pm). Wherein couples can win a televised wedding. Un, whatever. (No I won’t be watching).
Chris Rock on Larry King Live (CNN, 8pm, 11pm).
Dwight Schultz Alert
Dwight Schultz and Olympia Dukakis guest star on Touched By An Angel (PAX, 8pm).
Jaclyn Smith guest stars on Becker (CBS, 8:30pm).
Billy Dee Williams guest stars as Bois’ father on Gideon’s Crossing (ABC, 9pm).
There’s also a new Third Watch (NBC, 9pm), but no Family Law as it’s preempted for 48 Hours (CBS, 9pm). Me? I’ll be watching Billy Dee on Gideon’s Crossing.
The couples of Cold Feet (Bravo, 9pm, midnight) attend a swanky charity dinner.
Chris Noth guest stars as Mike Logan (of Law & Order) for the opening scene of the “Law & Disorder” episode of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV, 10pm). John Waters also guest stars. But the main story is Bayliss’ investigation of the murder of Gordon Pratt. The tough question he has to ask is whether a police officer did the deed and whether it’s one of his fellow detectives. Oh yeah: Munch is featured in an art exhibit, an event which was recently mentioned on Law & Order: SVU.
Dave Grohl on a new Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, 10pm, 12:30am)
Wow, two of my favorite actors are on The Tonight Show (NBC, 10:35pm). That’d be Gary Oldman and Steve Zahn. Plus musical guest: Enya.
Kelly Ripa (of All My Children and Live with Regis and Kelly), a Survivor II castoff, and The Naked Chef on The Late Show w/ David Letterman (CBS, 10:35pm).
Ice-T is profiled on Behind the Music (VH1, 11pm).
Chris Rock, Marlee Matlin, Donny Osmond on Politically Incorrect (ABC, check your local listings).
Regis Philbin, Lauren Graham (of Gilmore Girls), and Lewis Black on a cool rerun of Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien (NBC, check your local listings).
Charlie Chaplin in Modern Times (AMC, 2am) and Limelight (AMC, 3:30am).
